  1. Tune of the year so far on the modern scene maybe? 1st link is John Legend on Oprah singing Save Room. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hC4w2FrCTVs...ated&search=No prizes for what it sounds like. 2nd link is to the Frankie Eztefez remix (takes a couple of seconds to load, click on save room on the music player on the right) Let me know what you all think (say it for ya Baz, disco s###e ) Mart...
  2. Bet you can't remember what Crofty's shop was called on Wellgate Sean & i don't mean Strads. BTW you're giving your age away with the last post

Bloody tipical. You wait for hours for a Buss & then four arrive at once Know TTWF was 1st played at Cleggy but it always reminds me of the late 70s/early 80s South Yorks venues. Never seen a demo, any out there?
  4. Would have thought about £350 to £400 for a Thelma Lindsey w/d but don't the issue look a lot better & about 1/2 the price as well. Sure i saw a thread on here a while back about it.
  5. Time's don't change much Ken. Got a lift in't back of Russ's van a couple of weeks ago. 1st nighter was just the same as you, on a South Yorks bus paying a 2p childs fare to Sheffields KGB & it wasn't long before we were all getting to Wigan on platform tickets.
  6. Great record Been chasing this for a couple of years but now Sam's playing it it's gone way out of my price range.
  7. Plenty of info here Shane https://www.dreamgirls.dreamworks.com/ Any truth in the rumors that Beyonce is dating Andrew Castle? Hope they get married
  8. --> QUOTE(mark.b @ Sep 15 2006, 06:09 PM) link hard to tell really pt 1 and pt 2 does part 2 fade in or just start because it isan instrumental is'nt it. mark Just dug it out Mark & the vocal's on the b side & the label says part 2 instrumental & the inst is on the other side & the label says vocal part 1. Funny thing is the labels match the run out matrixes so someone at PM records was having a bad day. Both sides start with a couple of drum rolls & fade out the same. Mart...
  9. Must be a bit of a South Yorkshire thing but like Sean & Darran (awake 502) stated Mack Simmons stated a great track indeed Funny thing is both copies i have had have had the labels reversed, were they all the same? Must give it a dusting off next Saturday.
  10. Agreed Ian. Wikipedia a great service & a good general description of the Northern scene. Fair description of the Modern scene too IMO. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modern_soul
  11. Funny this as i've got a great version by "Robin S" on her From Now On album. Came out in 1997 on Big Beat & also features a great version of the Phillis Hyman classic "You Know How To Love Me" Thoroughly recommended

$50 for 8 tracks? Bloody scandalous £15,000 for 1 track? OK i suppose
  14. Cheers Jordi Roughly tallies up with what others have told me. Still got no info on Midnight - It's Never Too Late yet though. Mart...
  15. Hi Bri See you & a few others seem to be experts in all things Eurovision . Always said your bro's taste was better than yours Thankfully the Midnight record i aquired has no such connections but i'd still like to know what it's worth (not that it's for sale as it's rather good). You can have a listen here on Lotusland's site https://www.lotuslandrecords.net/ Just click on 45s & scroll down the page. See you & your kid on Friday at the Pond mate Mart...
  16. Not sure Simon but perhaps you could help me with this. Traded a few things with Sam the other night & tucked amongst a pile of records was a copy of It's Never Too Late - Midnight on Canadian Unison. Same group? any info? Also relieved him of a copy of The Hidden Secret - Jeff Smith & Universe (old Clifton Hall c/u) & a copy of Girl I Been Watching You - Cortez. Any info r/e value's etc would be most welcome. Mart...

  18. 48.The Boss man-You`re taking too long-Gamble E- 15 Got to be 1 of the years bargains so far. One of the best semi-known 60s tracks & seen for loads more recently. Recomended 100% blind buy. Not sure on this but is The Boss Man really Kenny Gamble under an alias?
  19. How about a couple of cheap as chips Philly classics. Harold Melvin's Wake Up Everybody & The Love I Lost & how can anybody not love The O' Jays, I Love Music.
  20. Thanks for the info Martin It's for my old mate Adrian who used to run all the nighters with Crofty (Clifton Hall, Parr Hall, Queens Hall, Cleggy etc ). Anybody who knows him (& i'm sure plenty of you do) knows he won't spend 27p never mind £27 the tight old sod Looking for an mp3 so i can copy it to disc but no doubt he'll end up taping it to play in't car. I'm sure somebody could send me an mp3 so i can sort it out for him, after all in days gone by he sorted us all out with plenty of music so i'm sure somebody can give him a bit back. Mart... ps, don't know it myself so i wouldn't mind hearing it as well.
  21. Got an old friend round our's for a couple of beers & i'm after some info or preferably an mp3 for him of Deuces Wild - Keep On. If there's anyone out there who can help with a soundclip plaese pm it me or e mail it me on modernism@blueyonder.co.uk Thanks for looking, Mart...
