  1. Love it. Essential with Christmas dinner.
  2. Record Collector Volume 1 compilation LP from 1980 on Destiny credits Nev Wherry as first to give it a spin. Whatever happen to Volume 2?
  3. Alone in Berlin was unlike any other book I’ve read. Compelling, very disturbing and suspenseful. I know people who had nightmares after reading it!
  4. Here’s one from under the radar
  5. Any Human Heart is a fantastic book. Just finished Flags on the Bayou by James Lee Burke which was good, but maybe not up to his usual brilliant standard.
  6. Invitations - Look on the good side Seven Souls - I still love you
  7. Good point. Too small to see!
  8. Very sad news. Such a nice and knowledgeable guy. RIP Andy.
  9. George Sharp’s Rotters review in issue 5 is a premonition of what’s still being vocalised 40 years down the line!
  10. Great fanzine. Thanks so much for uploading. Pile of records mentioned that I’d never heard or completely forgotten about. Fantastic!
  11. Loved Marva’s interpretation of this classic for many a year
  12. No idea, but agree on it being RB’s best. ‘You make me happy’ been a fave for nearly 40 years.

  14. Waste of time and as the years go by and entrants become more geriatric very embarrassing to try and explain this isn’t the scene that I frequent!
  15. All the above are better than the Bobbie Ember abomination.
  16. Few for sale. PM me if interested Carstairs - It really hurts me girl. Red Coach white demo. The real deal with STERLING stamp in the dead wax. Expansion Special Reserve. Mint-. £30 SOLD. Unity - The other side of your love. Soul Direction. Mint-. £10
  17. Arthur Prysock is wonderful. Other side ‘When love is new’ not bad either!

First time at this fantastic and friendly venue. Brilliant sets from all the guest spinners as well as the residents. Cheap bar and a great dance floor. Highly recommended!
  18. This is a great thread, but thus far most of the recommendations are 60s discs so in the interest of representing the modern corner here are a couple I’ve recently purchased. Probably well known in some circles, but new to me in last few months.
  19. Dean’s show has been mentioned as a great place to hear new and not necessarily rare and expensive records. Got to agree with this sentiment and this one ticks both boxes
