  1. The third track is a version of a Joe Bataan track "Cowboys to Girls" , no idea which came first though. Joe's is from '69
  2. Hi Pea , welcome to the forum. I'm liking that a lot , especially that haunting 'Caravan' track , has a touch of 'The Delco's - Arabia' about it to my clothy old ears. I'm taking a liberty and reposting the link seperately here as I only noticed the vague hightlight in your post when the cursor happened to pass over it , some folks might miss it altogether. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/h0eg739gxhww04560uooa/devotions.mp3?rlkey=3uf514oc0fnh0xi56redytqmj&e=1&dl=0
  3. Sad news , always loved his version of "The Hurt" on Rik.
  4. If you spelt her name correctly in the title you might get a better response ...
  5. A little short notice but I clean forgot about this until I just received a reminder e-mail from Omega. A lovely pile of UK 45s going under the hammer today (15th) , Pt II of the Alan Walker Sixties Collection. Lots of sought after soul goodies in there , demos galore. https://bid.omegaauctions.co.uk/auction/details/a265b-the-alan-walker-collection-part-two---the-1960s-collected/?au=223
  6. Will do fella , I'll just have to remember which hard drive they're on. I'll hav a rummage in the morning and ping them over.
  7. Hi Karl , I must get round to sending you the sixty-odd tapes that Emma had me convert for her , if you'd like them of course. All from the Stafford era , I made split files so that they can be easily navigated on a CD and have made as best a job at tracklistings as I could. If you like I'll send the lot over via WeTransfer for you to do with as you see fit , I was going to stick them on my Mixcloud page but then they stuck the restrictions on uploading and I never bothered. I have umpteen of the Lockdown 'Niter sessions saved too.
  8. P.S. You do know it was 'released' a while back which will save you a whole lot of cash ... https://www.soulfulrecords.co.uk/jimmyruffingottaletyougo?srsltid=AfmBOortuibGkHMq_JzdpXPme3L6rGqQRTaYSTOR98ReHAt7wRLcnmp7
  9. Apologies , it read like a disgruntled pop hence the kneejerk reaction , it's very early ...
  10. So you're blaming me for you not getting a £2k record for £200 when you couldn't navigate an auction site or read the lot details correctly ... Grow up Mr Magoo ...
  11. The pair of Kites weren't playing ball this morning but Mr Buteo shot through at an unusually low level for a change , he's usually circling way up high. I'd been messing about with settings last evening so the exposure was too high but auto-adjust in Irfanview retrieved things well enough to save a lot of messing about. I've had a quick play and stitched the sequence together , it really shows well how he wheeled away after he spotted me but never took his eye off me for even a moment.
  12. More early morning Milvus portraiture. I especially like the shot I've named "Oi Stupid , I'm down here ... !"
  13. Darren sold one for £400 at some point , no clue as to when though. https://www.raresoul45s.co.uk/derek-and-ray/a/71318/
  14. As TPs are usually done to check the stampers maybe they were done over here before the metalwork was sent down under. I can't imagine the metalwork being done over there as it would entail sending the bulky mastertapes (or copies of them) to Aus in order for the whole process to be done there from acetate onwards.
  15. Norvern by numbers , a whole album's worth perfect for supermarket background looping. https://www.discogs.com/release/28209238-Universal-Production-Music-Northern-Soul-Vintage
  16. Just started watching the new series "Task" with Mark Ruffalo , and a very good opening episode it was too.
  17. Just quoting the line from Discogs Richard , I read it as he managed the group not the label. The whole Profile blurb ... "1960s female soul trio from Detroit. Michigan, made up of Merlene Druskell, Brenda Roland, and Brenda Knight who recorded one single for the The Detroit Sound Recording Co. label. Managed by Dave Hamilton. Later known as The Lollipops. For the soul trio from Chicago that recorded for Crajon Records, see: The Sequins For the soul trio from Los Angeles that recorded for Renfro, see: The Sequins (4)"
  18. Discogs has them as "Merlene Druskell, Brenda Roland, and Brenda Knight ,who recorded one single for the The Detroit Sound Recording Co. label. Managed by Dave Hamilton. " but how true it is I don't know.
  19. That's the best news Dave ...
  20. Great cast , but to me it is a painfully twee parody of all the worst daytime TV detective shows all rolled into one. A "going through the motions" job for a bunch of great actors that should have known better but just took the cheques and ran ... over-hyped doesn't begin to describe it.
  21. Perhaps I'll start just posting six and a half minute long AI generated videos in future , I'm sure they take up much less space ... !
  22. None of this booking hotels for the following day to recover twaddle ... This is how I remember everyone looking and feeling coming out into the oh so bright Oxford St sunshine at 8am before jumping in the motor and heading off for a Sunday session to finish the weekend. (Insert location/venue of your choosing) ...
  23. Seen a few decent images but predominantly from far north in a very brief time window , I've a friend in Orkney right now and even she struggled to see much. Most of the photos I saw from down south were just clouds lit from underneath by light pollution by sadly delusional folk. Looks promising again for tonight apart from the obvious elephant coloured thing ... !
  24. Colin's a member on here , but hasn't been here since October last year , another sad loss for the site ... @Lawman Just in case he pops his head in for some reason.
  25. So why start another identical moany thread a fortnight later ... ?
