Its tough imho never saw many back in the day and its a record that rarely turns up. Not my cup of tea but deffo a time piece etc,used to echo round the casino and in that place sounded bloody marvellous much like many of the other tracks of that nature that had that feel but lacked real soul content. Mighty Lovers cover up is the dogs dandles never been so excited to hear a record since the Just Brothers and early days of Jesse James,the clip above does not do that record justice. Love Jean Carter also its longevity says the lot. I rarely get to hear Butch these days last time was Guys 60th but the MIGHTY LOVERS is the essence of the northern soul scene played loud its simply mind blowing.

The £5 presses have been flooding ebay for a while now,I would not say their are identical the colour is a give away ,similar to Grace Love except that boot has a fake matrix,I think the record is back at around £400,one I had tucked away in a dusty box and brought back out after Butch done the business again.

He does sound Blue Eyed but you cannot argue the quality Dont block is a fav of mine and the Dark Skie cut has been the envy of many collectors for a long time,its very tough indeed-a think a major talent often over-looked imho.

IT is a golden period at the moment for new unissued 45s and new releases Timmion, Secret Stash,Numero all the exciting stuff through UrbanMusicScene,Soul Brother Records,Japaneese Blue Note,plus Exspansion-Out of Sight,Ace/Kent the label that keeps on giving,to be honest you could go on and on. The bigger question is "how many people that are into soul music are turned on to it" if you wizz through AOTY it is chock o block full of absolute quality albums that are refreshing and innovative. If you buy a lot of records but want to keep it fresh this is a great time,if your caught up in the bubble of chasing rare northern etc then all I can say is that you are seriously missing out,just my opinion the inflated cost of rare soul has put me onto so much more and I am grateful for the work of these record companies that are finding the great undiscovered gems.

Yep the white one is the demo and judging by the crack we had on other sites recently this is a record held in real affection within the rare soul community,listen to it without your snobby (it aint rare head on lol ) and it just stands the test of time. Title says it all really "a calling to black civil rights at a crucial time for Black Amercia enuff said ".

This coincided with James putting out Message to the World which imho is worth a listen in 20002, it is often overlooked due to the Three Diamonds cut. He is a real talent the flip of amazing love has always been a favourite of mine.

Its annoys me ,happened a few rimes recently and the feedback issue is a strange one as as only a small % of buyers leave feedback ,have not sold on here long but I think the process itself is a good one -everyone gets a good shot at selling and no rubbish comments on price and that you paid £2 and now its £1000 etc lol. Back in the day it was a major source of fall-outs on here but now seems quite streamline NO system is perfect as proved with Facebook re wants as it also happens on there quite a bit also.
