  1. Ella Washington's last single on SS7 I think this is the issue of Willie Hobbs How Could My Baby Know. It looks like this and Mr Lovemaker were both demo'd seperately as single sided demo's
  2. Apart from the mis-credited Sam Dees song Its So Wonderful, there are (I think) 3 reworkings in the set, which i believe are SoundTown recordings (quite electronic), but dont know if they were previously released. Shelbra Deane reprises I'll Be the Other Woman, which I quite like... J Blackfoot & Shelbra Deane covering Williams Bells Lovin' On Borrowed Time There is another J Blackfoot reworking, but i cant remember what that is as I didn't think it was very good, so I never burned it to mp3, so have to get it out of storage to find out.
  3. They are, and I spent the last couple of Xmas' there with family and friends which was quite fun. They went through similar issues about 10 years ago with many of their sites closing. They've only got 3 sites left now and I think these have been redeveloped to try and attract future clientele. Butlins is owned by the Bourne Leisure group who also owns Warner hotels and the Haven holiday parks.
  4. Its been a regular on ebay for the last couple of years and generally went for less than $100. I actually wondered why it was up for auction in the first place, surely its too common to be auctioned even on behalf of someone or am i missing something about this copy?
  5. Should be easy to get hold of, though you may have to get the issue as I think the demo single sided
  6. I must admit it does nothing for me and IMO is one of the many "a bit soulful" dance related disco tunes that came out in the mid 70's
  7. I liked this when I saw this on Jools Holland. Personally, I rate quite a lot of stuff he's done in his various colaberations
  8. Is this now being played to make the price shoot up? Always thought you could get this to £50-60 at max £100 tops? Even the ones sold on ebay this year never reached $100.
  9. It's always been a tough one to get, not to sure if there's a premium for either the demo or the issue? Looks like the seller looked on popsike, saw one at 700odd bucks and put a similar price this one. In some respects you can't blame them for chancing their arm. It now seems the norm with buy it now stuff on eBay.
  10. Dave were there really only 50 that got over to these shores at time of release, I thought there was a bigger sales push in the UK. I seem to remember a full page add on the back of Voices for this LP and seeing them for sale at weekenders. Only Love Can Be With You on the LP is a differnt mix to the Lake 7". The LP also seems to be recorded at lot louder than the Lake seven.
  11. Ian Dewhurst played it on his Starpoint show a couple of weeks ago.
  12. Congratulations on reaching this milestone and it's always a joy listening to your shows, long may it continue.

Too true, another sad loss to soul music. It's funny you mention that chapter in Peter Guralnick's book as I was telling my wife about the things he'd done this morning, after I'd found out he'd died. I especially liked the popcorn tale...
  14. Ooohhhh, do you still have any? If you do, c'est combien?
  15. I love Jimmy Coleman - Cloudy Days - on Revue, but this was also released on SIR RAH a bit earlier as Jim Coleman. Can anyone tell me if they are both the same version and just leased to Revue for wider distribution or were they different cuts?
  16. Sadly the same with me. My third child took, what I thought was a perfect sized record room and my wife shot down the idea that she shared with either her elder brother or sister, so sadly eveything is stored away in the loft , with a few tunes stored under my bed.
  17. Paul, Looking foward to both of these. John
  18. The flips great too as is the Bobby Pattersons version.
  19. I think all the South Camp releases were distributed by ATCO. I'm assuming the same went for Quinvy, but it doesnt seem to say on the record labels
  20. A great tune. By listening to the distinctive voice of one of the singers, they or some of them morphed, into Peace, Justice and Equality as a re-working of "of all the hearts" was included on the "It's Time" LP and the title track isn't bad either.
  21. On average I get about 3/4 packages a week. The most I ever had delivered on one day was 10 seperate parcels. It did cause some heated words with my wife.
  22. Have always loved Set Me Free, but as the years have gone on, Take Me Back has taken over as my prefered side.
