Name Your Top Ten Ska And Reggae

Skinhead Train - The Charmers (Explosion) 6. Skinhead A Bash Them - Claudette (Grape) 7. Skinhead A Message To You - Desmond Riley (Downtown) 8. Skinheads Are Wrecking The Town - ? (Ackee blank) 9. Skinhead Invasion (Apollo 12) - Laurel Aitken (Nu Beat blank) 10.Skinhead Shuffle - The Mohawks (Pama) Not really my top ten, but I am a fan of late 60's/early 70's UK recorded Reggae especially the Cimarons stuff. I do have all the above on original 45's (bought them when nobody wanted them) and some are very tough to find. Not everyone's cup of tea, but for novelty/nostalgia value, lovely!

Reggae For Soul
I'd be interested in the Ethiopians but I have none of your listed items. I do have many other soul 45's so is there anything else you're after?

Still After Rodge Martin - They Say
If you're desperate I have a 'fair' copy that is similar to this picture, plays with crackle and has label wear. Does NOT jump. £15 all in.

Chapter 5-Alternative Take?
Is the Chapter Five release on 'Goldmine Sevens' 'You Can't Mean It / One In A Million' worth anything nowadays? I guess it's regarded as a 2nd/re-issue UK press?

Help With Price Plse Leather Boy On Mgm
It's not surprising you found a few of these in a charity shop, I remember finding a bunch of mint copies of Robie Porter (all in pic sleeves) at a local car boot ... Believe it or not by looking at the picture It is actually a great tune with a fabulous break that is 100% Northern Soul!!

Help With Price Plse Leather Boy On Mgm
I have a 'Leather Boy' MGM 45 picture sleeve but I'm pretty sure mine is a different record than the one you've found. It's an instrumental on one side called 'Soulin' and is a kind of pop/soul tune that could have been played at Wigan or somewhere. EDIT: Found it...

Todays Boot Gone Wild - Don Varner Tsf
£20(ish) is ok, it is a hard boot to get and I got offered £30 for my copy a few years ago. I must admit, I do collect the harder 70's boots like Eddie Parker 'I'm Gone', Lenny Curtis (this copy came in a proper 'End' sleeve!) etc and have a small box full just for a bit of NS nostalgia!!

Erma Franklin - Time After Time / Don't Wait Too Long
If you don't get offered a copy I have one on Epic that has a slight noise at the start. Let me know and I'll dig it out later and give it a spin to see if it's ok.

Rose Batiste Original, How Do I Tell
If you have a grey 70's boot it's a collectable item and fairly hard to get. If you don't want it stick it on ebay and you may get a nice little amount of cash for it.

Italian Labels - What You Got ?
Three Rocky Roberts 45's on Durium + an L.P 'Just Because Of You' pic sleeve... L.P... Two other R.Roberts 45's I have are another great pic sleeve 'Per Conquistare te'...another Northern stomper sung in Italian and 'I'll Never Turn My Back On You'... a full blown Northern outing in English.

John Manship Auction Results 10-7-2013
Thee Midniters (not Moonlighters). When I looked earlier at the bidding it was on £100 and the bidder was 'U Wish'.........maybe that's telling us something? I got a mint copy for about £10 several years back straight from the States. I'd say £30.

Clarence Carter
Just been listening to Clarence Carter 'I Can't Leave Your Love Alone' (Atlantic - flip of 'Patches). Loved it for years, great crossover tune from 1970, nice horns and tempo changes. Has it ever been played out on our scene?
