  1. White boy mixes pop with a bit of R&B to make it 'hip' for the teens. 'Once A Thief, Twice A Thief' played on the Northern scene, also 'You Can't Lose Something You Never Had' was a version of a tune released on a Kent Anniversary 45 by 'Chubby Checker'. Both these are on his LP..
  2. Mental! What's my mint original worth then?
  3. Jimmy Burns, the first version I heard. It's strange but most people do tend to go for the first version of anything they hear. Bought the Mystics but it doesn't really go anywhere so I traded it.
  4. Nice avatar 👍
  5. Thanks Mick. So it's 'Tear Drop 3226' which puts it at a 1968 release. It is missing on 45cat's Tear Drop listing so I am going to add it now. Hopefully someone will come up with a sound-file or post it on youtube. I'd love to hear it. It must be a bloody rare one as there are no images anywhere, not even on popsike. Joe's 'You're Everything (They Said You'd Be)' on Jade is a good Northern dancer...
  6. Confirmed then, Billy is a white guy. Lee David is the 'Temptation Is Calling My Name' guy? Now, I always thought he was white!!!
  7. As Chalky say's, that looks like a vinyl 45. I'd say original.
  8. I can find no image of the Joe Vandiver 'You Fooled Me / I Stood By'. Maybe it was unreleased and only an acetate exists?
  9. I think Rob was referring to the seller in Spain, not you. I've had this problem before, annoying! At the moment I have been waiting for a record from France for over a month. No movement on the tracking number!
  10. Ah, thank you, another white guy? EDIT: Just found a soundfile, yeah great and NOT whitey.
  11. Forgive my ignorance Frankie, but who's Joseph Webster? 😧
  12. Oh OK, thanks.
  13. Hi, Is the Terry Callier on a UK Chess with Radiants on the flip? If so I'll take it.
  14. Yes it has been on here but well worth another visit!
  15. Dave, just wondering what the Nanette Newman 45 is? Is she the British actress?
  16. I'm in! My missus will be getting me that for Christmas.
  17. I'll do a WAV file sometime this week and e-mail it to you if you like? Not aloud to upload files on here unless they are on youtube.
  18. Not sure.... https://www.45cat.com/record/bst45101
  19. 45cat is saying 1967 for the Sage 45 https://www.45cat.com/record/bst45101&rc=989074#989074 . Listening to it it's hard to tell?
  20. There is a 45, 45cat has it down as a boot.... https://www.45cat.com/record/dj
  21. So, a few days ago I ventured out to one of the local charity shops that had just re-opened after lockdown. Wasn't expecting to find anything of interest but I did pick up the ABC Northern compilation 'Out On The Streets Again' (ABCLP 5192) 1976 for £1.00 I've just played side one and was surprised to hear an alternate version of Jackie Lee's 'Darkest Days'! I have the original ABC US 45. On this particular LP it contains some brass (trumpet?) right at the start, you know the guitar and percussion bit that kicks the tune off, the brass is intertwined in-between. It's not on the US 45 or the Kent LP 'Floorshakers'. Anyone else noticed this? £1 well spent, just for that track!
  22. Great record, blue-eyed for sure, as Frankie Crocker suggests. First played by Ian Levine (I think).
  23. Album is great. 'I Can't Say' is a nice Northern dancer not issued on 45.
  24. Here's the other Don Hysong Bard 45 pic sleeve! ...
