  1. Happy new year Mortonette, Like the other posters your records especially "dont you care" has been a regular play on my record deck since the early seventies, great vocal performance, nice to see you on our site. best Rob h.
  2. how to explain something you feel....... you know it when you hear it, but to explain it to someone that cant....., as the old saying goes, if you have to explain it to someone, then it is normally a waste of time. dosnt answer your question really but was my immediate thought. happy new year to all. Rob.

  11. I have Cressa Watson on Charey doing a version of Dead ( same as Carolyn Sullivan on Philips ) but definatley a different version, a great inst break in it too, tother side is an inst, not of dead. Vocally they do not sound the same so not sure if the info stating it was her is correct. Rob.
  12. Betty Lavette did a version which is quite nice, Rob h.
  13. I run charity soul nights in the Worcester area, but because of the musical content of the evening, do not bother to advertise on soul source, Coppertops and Soulfull Sessions not a problem as they would appeal to the majority on here, we normally sell the place out and have raised over £16,000 in the last 6 years, the crowds we get tho are not normally your regular soul crowd, but they have a great time and thats what its all about, isnt it? We prefer to advertise locally and spell out what they will be getting music wise. Rob h.
  14. This looks like my kind of night, great playlists, will have to try to get to one of these, Rob h.

  19. Hot Wax 108 came out on the black and white and the black and siver lable design so you need to check the numbers too, as an aside there is also a version by The Main Ingredient on UK RCA 2034 released in 1970, but lacks the power of the 100% proof cheers Rob h.
  20. Doh!!! beat me to it. rob.
  21. sounds like Marvin Gaye, where are we going & give me respect, respect also done by G C Cameron , cheers Rob.
  22. Soulfull Sessions at Worcester has been doing just this kind of thing for the past 2 years, varying degrees of success with attendance but some great music being played, we try to get down DJ,s who can mix the styles and not be governed by dance floor, not to everyones taste admittedly but we have got a hard core of regulars who all travel long ways to get to our night, we do up the tempo as the nights progress and it seems to work for us, our next night unfortunatly clashes with Just Soul but we run them bi monthly and are thinking of doing an alldayer in the summer to take advantage of the clubs surroundings, on the banks of the river severn. For further info and previous playlists to get a flavour of what we do, go to soulstuff.co.uk Cheers Rob h.
  23. yes the lp did come out as a mono issue L 5907, totaly agree with you about it sounding better, took me a while to locate my copy but worth the wait, most copys that come up for sale are stereo, difference in the front cover , on the stereo version there is an orange band on the top and sides with stereo printed top center, mono version orange banding on bottom and sides. Never seen a canadian copy. cheers Rob.
  24. Classic club soul always gets in the mix at coppertops, rarely fails to keep the crowd moving, rob h.
