  1. Tony Rounce mentioned on Facebook the other week that after listening to "The in crowd" for donkeys years he had never noticed that in the opening verse the backing singers actually sing "Out on the floor", I must admit neither had I,
  2. Just the one, A stunning example of this timeless classic, The Natural Four - I Thought you were mine - ABC WDJ - EX+ - £275 SOLD Paypal as gift preferred, PM if interested or email pete.eccles@hotmail.com, Thanks for looking
  3. Pete Eccles replied to a post in a topic in Look At Your Box
Paid £300 for a minty issue a few weeks back and thought I was borderline mad for doing so, perhaps I still am but this does ease the pain a little bit
  4. I would expect the demo to be around £75 also, but recent experience proved that just finding a demo for sale was much trickier than I expected,
  5. Think I've just followed you in from around Chorley on the 61 :-)
  6. How do you know you would've won it? Is there a way of telling what the winning bidders max bid was?
  7. The wheel and that era are before my time, however if this thread had proven that Tommy Neal wasn't a play from that era I would've been seriously shocked!!!
  8. Was just going to post the same
  9. My point in my original post was maybe a bit vague, while we all know that since the mid 70s this thing called 'Northern soul' has been in the public domain, yet as recent as what seems like last year the merest mention by a soap character and it was all over places like soul source like a rash, The other night wasn't just a quiz question, it was a full on demonstration of dance moves on a prime time celebrity show, presented in a manner as if it really is something everyone is totally familiar with, The biggest surprise though, logging on here a couple of hours later expecting to read the fall out from it all and not a mention, anywhere, complimentary or otherwise, no big deal really just thought a little bit strange,
  10. OK OK!!! so the TV was still on the same channel I had watched Corrie on and I was too busy with my colouring in book to change channels, However my point still stands and is valid I believe, it seems only like yesterday references were being made on soap operas or detective programmes and they were being mentioned on here before I could log on,
  11. Not too long ago, there only needed to be a sniff of a 'Northern' classic in the background of a TV programme, or a comment by one of the characters and before the show had finished it would be noted on Soul Source, Tonight there was a question on the already cringeworthy Mr and Mrs show loosely relating to the contestants love of Northern Soul and a young lady demonstrating some dance moves according to the multiple choice answers, I could be wrong but a couple of hours later I can't find reference to it on here, Is this a sign of the times? Are we now resigned to the fact that NS is the new bingo?? If this is in the wrong place, or it has been posted already, please move/merge/delete as necessary
  12. Or used for shooting practice with the old .22
  13. I often take one when guesting anywhere, only there's rarely room for any records in it, the cans of lager see to that
  14. Was brought up 500 yards from the Nav, up until being old enough to get into pubs I was there at least 6 nights a week, great times, and on the Saturday nights there was always at least some Northern played, Used to teach the kids Skating on Saturday mornings, and worked the 'spotlight' Tuesdays and Thursdays, a sad day when the senile old owner burned it down
  15. Fred check the link in the article you posted, the facebook page, it has the words 'Northern Soul' all over it, and some familiar names on there too, not that it matters any more anyway,
  16. Don't remember him much from the Navada (although every Boltonian of a certain age went at some point), Phil worked the doors in town most weekends from being a teenager, Scamps, Nags Head, among others, don't remember him being into Northern much either, has been putting 70s nights on of late at various venues
  17. Only interested in the Demo, but thanks anyway Newer Anybody??????
  18. Did you have it on a list Pete? I've had it in wants for a while, I didn't bump it as I assumed anyone selling one would be waiting for JMs result, Oh well
  19. Was this what was supposed to be the run down or a prediction, if it's the latter it's a bit Morecambe and Wise, all the right tunes but not necessarily in the right order, not a lot unlike my world cup predictions
  20. But by 'repeat' it might mean on-line too? Can't comment on mixcloud etc, way above my head, and as for itunes, all my library disappeared with an upgrade apparently and I'm too stupid to follow the instructions on how to get it back
  21. Sure I heard it said earlier that it repeats on Wednesdays 6am - 8am, not sure if that's any use, but while it's on a Sky channel can it not be Sky plussed, not much use without Sky obviously
