  1. Top stuff as always, Pete.
  2. Kev Cane's landed today Great stuff, Kev - just listening to the Notations - "Make me twice the man". My own CD has a version by New York City on it. Mike
  3. It's not moving to Oldham Street but further down Tib Street (away from the City Centre).
  4. Looking forward to your selection Kev, along with the others. Mine are almost complete - should be able to get them out this week. Mike
  5. Pat Sands and The Pebbles.
  6. Heard this for the first time in a long time today and thought it sounded pretty fast to me.... Benny Curtis - "Dirty hearts" Must be an age thing as I don't remember it appearing that fast, first time around.
  7. The other one listed in R & B Indies is: 203 R L Griffin - Big Bo & The Arrows - "Give yourself another chance/Nobody cares" Is that the one, Marc?

According to DFTMC neither track was issued. "It's gonna take a whole lot of doin" was recorded on 10 October 1969 whilst "Anything that you ask for" was recorded on 15 October 1969. Both were produced by Clay McMurray.
  10. I'm in . Kitch suggested a group harmony swap - that and ballads would work for me.

    Don Trotter?
  12. Just seen this, Baz. My pleasure indeed. For me it's been a real education - just so much wonderful stuff, a lot of which I'd never heard before, Iv'e given all the CD's plenty of hammer over the last 2 months. At some point I might do a "favourite from each CD " type of apraisal but for the time being a special merit award to Jock for 2 CD's even if one of them features the magnificent "Poem on the schoolhouse door" from the Soul Children twice!! Mike

Soul Children - "Genesis" Soul Children - "Friction" Millie Jackson - "Caught up" Sam Dees - "The show must go on"
  16. Roy Hamilton for me. Stone cold Northern classic. On the unreleased stuff, I have a liking for the Cavaliers "It's guarenteed"

  24. John Reeds has arrived today together with another which doesn't appear to have the compilers name attached to it. It's titled "Have you heard any heartaches lately" Could somebody please oblige. Mike
  25. Got Cliff's yesterday (with some neat artwork) and gave it a spin on the road today. Di'Ann Carlton,Johnny Green,Alicia Myers amongst others - just tremendous stuff. Also got chance to give Mark Speakman's an airing and without doubt one of his tracks is an early runner for favourite so far - "Realistics - Putting it down (to the way I feel about you, girl) - sublime and as sweet as it gets in my opinion. Mike
