This is by far the biggest piece of Shite EVER to be played on the scene, BUT You have to ask who the fook decided to play this garbage and what the fook was going through their head (or bloodstream) to not only be listening to this crap in the first place, but then actually deciding that it would make a good NS track.

Too many Wanabee DJ's wanting to play out their expensively put together ebay collections that's taken them literally minutes to source. However given pretty much everyone on the scene now is also a Wanabee DJ they don't get any bookings, so they come up with the Baldrick-esk style cunning plan of Starting their own venue and Viola!, Another night of Ruby Andrews and Moses Smith for the Party Pensioners to get pi55ed at.

OVO is always preferable but I'm more concerned these days on 'What's' being played rather than it's format. Endless repeated shite is still endless repeated shite no matter how original the Vinyl.

Finding this lurve as a consequence of going to a Soul nite and Actually going to a Soul Nite to find Lurve are two slightly different things.....

It all comes back to the what is Northern' thing? I got into the scene back in the day as an antidote to the Chart and Commercial sounds of the day, and that still applies with me now. Of course there will always be tracks which cross between the two, but on the whole if I hear 'I Can't Help Myself' played out I'd head for the Door - not the dance floor, even though I'd be happy to sing along to it in my Front Room.

Commercial/Chart = Motown. Unreleased/Rare = Northern.

Likewise, but for many it's more what the track represents rather than the record itself, which is hardly FW's fault. I'd think Ruby Andrews is now comfortably ahead and is easily the most overplayed track in the scene's history. There must be as yet undiscovered tribes in the Amazon rain Forrest who could recite the lyrics to 'Just Lovin' You'.

Monthly oldies all nighters aside I only recall Mood Mosaic from M's, John Leach and Gwen Owens I would have had down as mainly Big room plays, but as you say may have crept into M's towards the very end.
