In a 6 month period 1971/72, I saw Ray Charles, The Ike and Tina Revue, and Stevie Wonder at The Colston Hall, Bristol. (The Colston Hall named after a Bristol Merchant who made his money from the slave trade, a subject of much debate recently in the local paper) Ray was relaxed as he performed all his well known hits. Tina and the Ikettes were pure sex. Stevie had just started to "experiment" and much of the crowd were not happy, shouting for him to play "some soul". John

Now the mystery has been solved......or has it? I've got a single on the UK Destiny label, the label is grey and white, with Mickey Moonshine "The Statue" hand written. It was bought for 50p from Chris Savory at a fair about 25 years ago. As far as I know it did not get released. Is this our man or someone having a laugh? I apologise if this is all well known. After nearly 40 years of collecting you think there can't be much left to hear. But no, these cd swaps have introduced new gems to me. In fact each cd has always contained at least one track that has blown me away, and is immeadiatly a must have.
