Blue Eyed Soul ?
Wondered how long it would be before Sir Cliff got a record played on the Northern Soul scene! Although, looking at his sales list, does anyone know the Megatone single he's got? Looks interesting for the B-side, and for the label itself: https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BOBBIE-DEE-Rare-Snotty-R-B-Soul-Dancer-45-Megatone-VG_W0QQitemZ290373577262QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMusic_on_Vinyl?hash=item439b9d2a2e And these buy it now bits look interesting: https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AL-GREENE-Northern-Soul-45-on-Hot-Line-Dont-Leave-Me_W0QQitemZ300365862390QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMusic_on_Vinyl?hash=item45ef3355f6 https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/OLYMPICS-Northern-Soul-45-Philly-Dog-Western-Movies_W0QQitemZ300365854063QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMusic_on_Vinyl?hash=item45ef33356f https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/IMPRESSIONS-Doowop-promo-45-on-Abner-The-Gift-Of-Love_W0QQitemZ300370365663QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMusic_on_Vinyl?hash=item45ef780cdf

How Rare Is This
Wasn't this covered up as Harry Krishner and the Go-Go-Vinders?
-
Trends
Probably his mates bidding it up for him. Actually, looking at their sales and purchases, I think we could probably be looking at a female seller here! Not that it should tip anything in their favour though..........

Drifters/uk Expertise Required
Definitely an Atlantic mispress - sadly, they didn't mispress the better side of the Drifters 45 IMO!

Rubin Any Kapp Issues Of This
And they are, supposedly, bloody rare as well!

Cautions - Fall Guy
Yes - I think Keb and Guy played an Emi of this in the mid '80s. I think the first official release of this was on one of the Kent Shrine comp LPs.

Dj Theme Tune Records
I can remember some of Keb Darge's regular theme tune records, which he always started his spots off with for a couple of years (these were all covered up, of course): 1983 Look Ahead - Gordon Keith Where Can My Baby Be - The Martells 1984 That Lonely Night - George Jackson Just Wait & See - Little John 1985 It Hurts Too Much To Cry - H. B. Barnum Keep Her Guessing - Arthur Alexander 1986 Gonna Hang On In There Girl - Jesse Davis

University Challenge
"Sugar Sugar" is only a pop cover version of "Come On & Stop" by Marv Johnson with different lyrics anyway!
-
Johnny Wyatt
Equally as interesting is to note one of their climbers; "Anything That You Do" by Chapter Five - the A- side to "You Can't Mean It"!!

Nick Brown
Really glad to hear Dawn and Nick are doing well. Can't remember when I last saw them, though it was definitely well over 2 years ago. If you're out there, drop us a text or a PM here - don't lose touch, whatever you do guys! PS - Elaine sends her love to you all xx

Wigan Joker
It was the 'Royal Vibes' version with the xylophone intro (minus the Butch Baker laughter) that the All Night Band covered. PS: Anyone know the origins of the "Sabre Dance" B-side? Not a bad version from what I can remember (27 years since I last had and heard it!).

Harry Deal & The Galaxies
Don't know if it helps, but judging by my old Atco distributed demo, these date from April 1970.

Just Another Bootleg
Hi Gareth, The Bobbie Smith discography on the site I've just posted the link of seems to pigeon-hole her as the same person who was with the Dream Girls. https://www.blogg.org/blog-65325-themes-dream_girls__bobbie_smith___the_-259971.html
-
Just Another Bootleg
And while I'm at it, here's a great site full of pics and discographies, where the Dream Girls pic came from. https://www.blogg.org/blog-65325.html
-
Just Another Bootleg
This will answer part of your question Gareth. Here's Bobbie Smith & The Dream Girls (but I don't know who's who).
-
Just Another Bootleg
But is it a vinyl MP3, or a styrene MP3?
-
Just Another Bootleg
These are the 6 legal releases/demos of Bobbie Smith that I know of. All are pressed on styrene: 1. Demo, white label with black lettering, lined 2. Demo, white label with red lettering, lined 3. Issue, white label with black lettering, no lines 4. Issue, black label with silver lettering, lined 5. Issue, black label with silver lettering, 'fat, squareish' typeface on title, lined (see pic below from Popsike). 6. Issue, black label with silver lettering, no lines As far as known, the 'no lines' (No. 3) only exists as a white issue, without the 'Promotional copy/Not for sale' text. Some demos are date stamped 'Oct 1964' BOOTLEG As for No. 3, but pressed on vinyl

Just Another Bootleg
I have to concur - the one on Ebay is definitely the real deal. The only boots of these from the mid-80s were NEVER lined.

Jo Ann Henderson - Baby Please Don't Go (Phonogram 78)
Now here's something a little bit different - "Baby Please Don't Go / Just Leave Me Alone" by Jo Ann Henderson on a Phonograph 78! Please PM your offers over £40. This is ideal for those looking for something a little out of the ordinary, even more so for those who collect or can play 78s - condition is EX. Auction closes on Friday 6 November at 7pm. P&P: UK - £8. Overseas - £15. This is because 78s are fragile, and have to be packaged in much the same way as a tea-set. I accept PayPal (no fees), cheque or cash at your own risk. Thanks, Gene

The Nomads - Something's Bad - Mo Groove
Is there any truth in the rumour that the single was given away free at one of their local gigs?
