  1. The Flying Witch in the logo appears to have been "borrowed" from the one they used in the opening credits of the U.S. TV show "Bewitched" in the early years of the program.
  2. There was another thread on this in February- see "Drill Holes" in the look at your box section.
  3. I think the 3 Bossmen are related to the Bossmen shown on the label in the pic . The 45 was autographed by 3 group members (Chucho(aka Jesse) Perales, Vince Nares and Pete Perez). Jesse was also a member of the 50's group Mando and the Chili Peppers who recorded for Golden Crest.
  4. I just went on the web site a few minutes ago and the site is up and running again !!!!
  5. Sound files for the CD are now posted on the Ace/Kent web site. Some great tunes are on the CD !
  6. The group member's name is Gary Gant. That's the same Gant who co-wrote Kenny Wells' "Isn't It Just A Shame" on New Voice.
  7. According to the liner notes of "The Northern Soul Of Dore" , Smokey and the Fabulous Blades were the Dore house band. Lew Bedell also used The Scooters and the Cruisers as names for the group.
  8. I doubt it - according to the label credits- Pattie Brooks wrote the song.
  9. I've read that Los Bravos had a big impact on Simon. He even had Patti Brooks record it (along with "Popcorn" and "Na Na Hey Kiss Him Goodbye") as part of the "Pop Collage Medley" on her first album.
  10. The Yank replied to a post in a topic in Look At Your Box
"Don't Look Back" was issued as the B side to "My Baby" on Gordy #7047.
  11. The last letter of the matrix info - A, B, C ....J has something to do with the lacquer used for the side. There's a whole topic about this in the Look At Your Box section entitled "ZTSC on Ric Tic, Golden World" which I believe is on page 10.
  12. There's no "1 C" on my copy- did notice a very faint scratched in "R' though.
  13. I don't know why anyone would boot this- plenty of copies around. Original copies are styrene and have ZTSC126413-1A on the "If This..." side and ZTSC126414-1A on the "You'll Soon Be Gone"side. Matrix info is stamped and not scratched in.
  14. My copy is also the same as yours.
  15. As far as I know... this was never booted. There was a "re-issue" on After Dark with the Seven Souls (?) on the flip side. What label do you have it on- Atco or Vent ?
  16. Both sides on you tube.
  17. Motown released "Come See About Me" five weeks after "Baby Love" was in the stores. Both still made it to the top of the charts!
  18. The Supremes definitely made it first. Nella heard it from the Supremes album and recorded it. He might have meant it was the first version on a 45 ?
  19. It wasn't released as a single in the U.S., it was available on his "I Just Don't Know What To Do.." album.
  20. The only other version I know of "All I Need" was by Bobby Taylor. This was unreleased also.
  21. I don't think there is a version by Brenda Holloway ( or by anyone else) that re uses the backing track to "All I Need". "Just Look What You Have Done" is kind of like it. If there is one, I'd like to know about it.
  22. Temptations- "That'll Be The Day" Carolyn Crawford- "Until You Came Along" Supremes- "It's All Your Fault" Stevie Wonder- "Why Don't You Come Home" Levi and the Vandellas- "Oh, I've Been Blessed"
  23. Here's a Jobete mailer with the same logo from 1972. I don't think that sounds like Chris Clark either.
  24. Inconquerables on Flodavieur ? Sorry - no pic to post .
