Chris Anderton 501 Posted January 12, 2017 Hi Kimbo, Be great to see you. On my list of things top post in the FB group but as you asked the nearest big car park is 5 mins walk away at the Leisure centre. When you enter the car park head for as near to the top right corner as possible. Then walk onto the main street down the side of Home Bargains (I know, Nantwich has gone right Down-hill!). Then turn right past B&M (Ughhhh!) across the road and you will see the front of the Crown. Postcode for the carpark is CW5 5LS. See you there. Chris 1 Link to comment
Chris Anderton 501 Posted January 12, 2017 The postcode for the Crown Carpark is CW5 5BA...dont follow the Crown hotel postcode of CW5 5AS as this is a pedestrian area! Chris 1 Link to comment
Chris Anderton 501 Posted January 12, 2017 There will be no free CD at the Dab 8th Anniversary this Saturday. However, we will have on sale the "Listeners choice 2016" CDs! These will be available for a MINIMUM donation of £5.00...but really when you see the work that has gone into these you should be giving at least £7.00!A massive thanks to Griff (Dave Griffiths) who has spent a lot of time on the artwork, improving the sound quality etc.The CDs will be available at a later date by mail-order. Price to be decided.Limited to a run of 200. As usual all proceeds go to the Christie Cancer Charity. Link to comment

Popular Comment Chris Anderton 501 Posted January 16, 2017 Popular Comment Just over eight years ago I called Dave and "told" him we were promoting a Crossover night in Nantwich! Those early days in the upstairs room at the Civic Hall were a lot of fun but sometimes numbers were hit and miss. We had plenty of those "Well the music was good" type of nights but we just needed everyone to come on the same night! After moving to the Crown we continued with our policy of booking the very best DJs the Crossover genre had to offer. It did not matter where they came from, who they were or what they cost. The Friday nights at the Crown were inconsistent, sometimes we had 60 people in, enough to create a good atmosphere...other times had had 30 in..."but at least the music was good"! Eventually we moved to Saturday nights at the Crown and for the last 4 years or so we have seen a consistent attendance of 80-100 like minded souls walking up the creaky stairs. These night have gone from strength to strength attracting travellers from literally every corner of the country while still staying true to our principles of playing the best in quality soul. The vibe at every event is top drawer and the nights are eagerly anticipated. Fast forward to last night, our 8th Anniversary. We knew it was going to be a popular one....but we did not expect 148 "Crossover Crazies" through the door to be indulged in some of the finest music known to man! Yes the DJs were awesome, but I knew they would be...they were not booked by accident! What always amazes me is the effort people go to to attend and for this I want to say a heartfelt "Thank You"......I have said it before but EVERY SINGLE PERSON MAKES A DIFFERENCE...I know life gets in the way, we all have commitments in other areas so for 148 people to squeeze into our little venue in Nantwich to celebrate 8 years of "Dab" was truly very special. Again, thank you.x So, I am glad you all enjoyed it. Apart from being wiped out by a migraine for an hour around 11.00pm I certainly did! Our next event is on a Friday, 21st April...and we need your support. So, you have 3 months to figure out how you can get from Truro or Inverness or wherever you live to Nantwich on a Friday night! Once again, thank you to everyone who came, drank, ate, danced, DJ'd,chatted, laughed, carried a speaker down stairs, bought a CD, sold some records, bought some records.....whatever "Dab" means to you we are glad to have you there....and we can still say "At least the music is good" but it sounds even better sharing it with 148 people! 4 Link to comment

Well done Chris and Dave. Tough call promoting and running a gig year, after year, after year. But somebody's got to do it.... so well done both. Keep up the good work Sean 1 Link to comment
