A brand new, forward looking, regular Northern Soul night will be starting in January 2017 in at the Masonic Hall, Dukinfield, Greater Manchester. The first event will be held on Friday 20th January.
The event is being co-promoted by Brian Lester and Chris Churm and for those of you who remember the fantastic nights run buy these guys at Hyde United and Hyde Botanical Club in the 1990s you’ll recognise the pedigree of those behind the night.
The music policy is straightforward: quality sounds, original vinyl only and a focus on playing more than just the Top 500 that seem to be the mainstay of so many Soul Nights these days. The night doesn’t profess to be just ultra-rare, but you can expect to hear some 45s that you won’t always hear played out and all of them are guaranteed OVO!
Chris Penn (The Birchfield, Widnes and now The Northern Line, Warrington) and Dave ‘Silky’ Hargreaves (Rat Pit, Stockport) will be regular supporting DJs alongside resident spinners Brian Lester and Chris Churm.Guest DJs will be announced in the near future.
The venue is almost custom-made for a Northern Night with a quality, large wooden dance floor, seating around the dance floor and a great lounge bar for those who need to chill-out and catch their breath. There’s also ample car parking with the entrance being just 20 yards from the venue.
The address is Dukinfield Masonic Hall, 62 Old Road, Dukinfield, SK16 4EN
