Guest Bearsy Posted December 27, 2010 Share Posted December 27, 2010 The last one was musically a cracker, looking forward to this one, hope theres no clash with another local do this time It certainly was musically cracking and has set the standard for all future Ghetto Soul nights to follow As for clashing with any other local nights it shouldnt as myself and Alfie did plenty of research and double checking and there aint nothing on within at least a 300 mile radius PLUS it is now on a Saturday night too so easier for even more peeps to be able make it along, Anyway even if there was something else on within a localish distance it wouldnt make a difference as this night is as you well know like nothing else musically down this way as most if not all nights are Oldies orientated with the odd rare or underplayed tune chucked in, Ghetto Soul is everything BUT popular and overplayed Oldies So if you like love Soul music and would like to hear something different from the norm then come along to Ghetto Soul and listen to some djs playing the tunes they would love to share with you all in an enviroment where there is no pressure to fill the dance floor, Rare, Underplayed, Forgotten, Uptempo, Crossover, Ballads, R&B, Funky, Gospel, Popcorn, Latin, 60s, 70s and if the dj fancies it then tunes from the new millenium too great little venue recently refurbished with plenty of chin stroking standing and seating areas Come along get the vibe and feel and if you think you have that then i know Alfie will be looking for djs for future events so give him a nudge and a wink and usually a pint does the trick Bring it on i cant wait for the most thought provoking Soul Night in the South of England Bearsy Link to comment

Will have a look and see if I can free up the 15th for it it would be great to see you Adam but please introduce yourself to me first as i may not recognise you :D Its a small and newly refurbished room with nice toilets and a nicely stocked bar attended by 2 very lovely ladies, compact but right size for the room excellent dance floor and of course a very good sound system and most importantly of all out of this world quality underplayed,semi known, rare and possibly never heard of in the south before Soul music played by djs who really do have soul and massive egos to go with it too and then there are the 2 guest djs this month Gavin and Martin who i have never had the privilege of hearing before so really looking forward to their sets not much else to say really except come and give us a try and hear something not only different from the norm but exciting and fresh too, Soul heaven cos its not just about the beat you know ps, Adam if you are coming down give me a bell and your more than welcome to come to mine before (maybe chuck in dinner) and stay over if you want and maybe send you on your way with some brekkie too if not up yours Link to comment

Some other news folks...mind you it wont be to everyone's cup of tea...was chatting to the manager tonight and he asked me if i would be interested in putting on a Modern Soul Night...i was thinking of asking a few of the local dj's...i.e...Geordie Neil/Ray New/Russ Vickers/Chilli..etc...i have said to him that i would be up for it but i would just rather run the event as i'm not very clued up with the Modern Scene... ...so i'm open to suggestions... ps..polite ones..lol...
