Terrible news, a lady that i looked forward to every new release of, as there would always be a killer ballad on them, fortunate to have seen her live as well, a sad sad loss and very unexpected. R.I.P. Lady T.

I interviewed her last year and she was definitely sounding very 'up'. We were even laughing together at her child actor status in the Beverly Hillbillies back in '66.

Totally shocked on this one.

Sad and shocking news, I never seen her live, but I suspect that was where she truly shone.

RIP lovely lady

Totally shocked at Teena's passing at such a young age , as Rob highlighted ,there was always at least one killer ballad on her albums to showcase her amazing voice to full effect .This duet with Rick James is IMHO ,one of the best of it's kind :

Rest in peace Teena .....Eddie

Didn't care much for her voice, or for any of her records apart from 'Don't Look Back', but it's still sad that she died so young and that she leaves a family to greive for her...

RIP Young Lady !! A Sad End To Christmas For Her Family!!

I feel very upset writing this. She was so talented! Beautiful ballads, great happy uptempo tunes, a belter of a singer and excellent live. Here's a clip of her singing Cassanova Brown, which was her encore, at the IndigO2 earlier this year. Amazing performance, amazing woman. RIP Teena.

One of my alltime favourites too can well remember Robbie Vincent playing it during his "quiet storm" sequences

I'm with you Malc on Portugese Love. Incredible song :hatsoff2:

What a great shame. She was a beautiful & talented lady & to be taken away so young??? It's all wrong.

Such a loss

One of many of her songs, takes me back to The Angels in Burnley.

So sad to die at any time but a lot worst to die so young.

R.I.P. Teena Marie (Lady T.)

Saw her at Southport and she blew me away.Always rated her but not too many impress me in the flesh like she did,Awesome voice.

Very sad news, I can't even tell you how much she was loved in Detroit;

her talents truly had the respect of the community here, which is no small feat.
