September 22, 200519 yr Anybody from down here would like to go to Oz`s funeral PM me,try me very bestest to be there Oz!!!!!Ken
September 23, 200519 yr That's a real shame. Out of all the headcases at the 100 Club in the 80s he was one of the sweetest and funniest. If there is an afterlife and Pete, Tommo and Oz are there, I'm applying for eternal life down here!

Ady they are really nice and very appropriate words, I think its really important that people remember all sides of Oz (and there were many sides! ). Oz was crazy (and fu**king annoying at times) but he was sweet and funny, unbelievably funny, most people only saw the crazy side but he was a really intelligent bloke, and knew his music, had great taste and introduced me to quite a few records, in fact in early days he gave me lots just because he thought I would like them. I havent seem him for a number of years but still have great memories. Cheers Jock
September 23, 200519 yr A devastating piece of news, i can't begin to count the ridiculous weekends that started on thursday and ended on tuesday, that i spent with Ozz and Ant et al back in the 80's. Mark.
September 23, 200519 yr I'm sorry to hear about the passing of Ozzy, I must admit when I first met him, just after Hayley started going out with him, I wasn't struck on him, nevertheless, he always made a point of talking to me, and in the end, i found him to be quite a pleasure to be around, my condolances go to his family, to Hayley and his daughter Ruby.Del

September 23, 200519 yr Same as a lot of people on here .... i hadn't seen Ozzy for a number of years. Was kept up to date though through Martin and Debbie and also Craig who were in regular contact with him ..... even though he was a very hard person to be a friend to towards the end. Very sad and such a waste ..... like Jock and Ady have said already, he was a sweet person and extremely funny. Can still picture one Sunday night at Mark George's flat ...... a Kung Fu film on the telly with the sound turned down and Ozzy and Ant doing the voices to their own script .......... So funny! Had to be there of course! Anyway ..... he's at peace now ..... which can only be a good thing. God Bless fella xx

Give my love to Pete when you get through those gates ! Edited September 23, 200519 yr by Mandy
September 23, 200519 yr Yeah, heard this very sad news earlier in the week. Many happy memories of Ozzy. Always remember he stayed over in Loughborough after one heavy weekend - on the Monday night I took him over to Richard Broughton's flat in Nottingham to peruse Poke's collection that he was selling for him. Sunday night had always been the end to the messyness for me..but Oz talked me into staying up Monday night too...I was elated after picking up Charisma Band for £5 and original Hugh Boynton amongst others. We got back to the flat...and Oz promptly fell asleep! Always remember Tomo/Moll/Oz and Chris Ashby in the "crazy" car zooming around the country. Happy Days.

September 26, 200519 yr Best man!!!! If you could keep up with him.... sharp witty loyal thought provoking loved maverick def: Maverick an unorthodox or independent-minded person
September 28, 200519 yr Best man!!!! If you could keep up with him.... sharp witty loyal thought provoking loved maverick def: Maverick an unorthodox or independent-minded person I think that's an accurate description of the man. Oz opted for a humanist service to a full chapel; a fitting tribute and very moving. Oz was given a send off by familiy and many of his mates, with a follow on at the pub; I can't describe it as a wake, as Oz would appreciate it was his friends and familiy having a drink, a laugh and a celebration of his life. Stories were abundent of the many capers that lad got up to We even hammered the slot machine in his honour (to some that'll make sense ). We lost. On a personal note; I'd never say I was one of Oz's besssie mates, I lost touch when I left the scene in the mid 90s, and just knocked around with him a bit at the odd nighter, however I always rated him as one of the best people on the scene, as many have allready said intelligent, into his music, a pain in the arse but hells teeth was your night better for him being there. Rest easy Oz Byrney
