Any info would be a great help thank you.

Quite a tough one i think on Magic Touch (?) Andy Dyson spin, possibly Karl Heard among others.Had the good luck to see him do "Trackdown" live at Brooklyn back in October.Love it.

It's only recently become known about so the value has been a bit all over the place. It's a great track with a really nice deep flip as well. I'd say rarity-wise it's neck and neck with "Trying to Survive" which broke 3k (usd) this year in auction. Obviously Trackdown is much more of a 60s sound and TTS is more 70s. I've seen maybe 3-4 copies of each in my 15 years of digging in Milwaukee (where they are from). Bit of trivia, Betty Moorer, sister of the Esquires guys and the woman responsible for 'Speed Up' on Wand, sings the female backups on Trackdown.

hate to disagree with you mate, but its been known for quite some time

I agree Marc, been around for ages.

Flip is fabulous deep as well.....as Lotusland observes. When I collected the Magic Touch label both this and "Trying to Survive" came quite easily with a bit of searching - now the Tornadoes - that's a hard record!!!

Agree with the others it has been around years. Was it played at Wigan?

Hah! Funny you say that! You know what was the most surprising moment for me when watching Soulboy ? It was when all of a asudden this song apperared n the background  Understanding the makers of said film had some Wigan DJ`s telling them what was being played at the Casino I presume it indeed was played back then already ?

Marc

Yep, its been 'known' for quite some time, as far as I'm aware never played at Wigan though (?). Thing is, there are loads of records that are 'Known', but have never really been played to a larger audience & have never properly taken off so to speak, so when a respected DJ starts to fit these into their set on a regualar basis, they receive wider exposure..........& this generates demand, both from the dancefloor & collectors/DJ's wanting copies. Records that some feel are well known amongst collectors, can be totally unknown to the dance floor until someone gives it a push.........

I would like to hear anyone's account of this being played at Wigan.Maybe a "tape sound" ?

The reason I asked is as Marc says it is on the Soulboy soundtrack. As this was compiled by some who were around at the time and is sup[posed to represent the earlier days of the scene then I assume it was known back then.

Had a copy of this, played it out at Scarborough Spa long before the film Soulboy came out. Only one person danced and he was just pratting around to it, he really thought he was James Bond as mentioned in the lyrics, sold mine for double what i paid after that.
