HI ALL What in your opinion, would be included in the best SOUL LP's to make a all-time TOP 20 CHART?

I WOULD PUT JACKIE LEE "the DUCH" LONDON LP, In the top 5,

Only rule is no CD COMPILATIONS or POST 1982 STUFF of VA??

Step by step LP is awesome.

Not 'northern'related but"I want you" by Marvin Gaye is a complete masterpiece I'll never tire of

Looked through and haven't seen these mentioned yet:

Fingers put me onto The Jaedes, couple of stand out tracks to play incl What'll it take to Make You Happy, but a good listening album that aside, also includes a very cool version of Color Him Father.

I think this is an outstanding LP, not only for the wll known 45 numbers but also the wonderfully playable version of 96 Tears (LP only?)

I love Shorty's laid back delivery, but including this for the obvious Baby Come Home to Me.

No comment needed apart from why hasn't this been included already (or have I missed it)?

Another obvious addition, but the Lp is better than just the one track, although for me Lend a hand will always have a place.

Worth a mention, although prob not top 20, just sharing!

This would be the last LP I would sell, not for The Bottle, but for the beautiful music throughout, strangely the album titled Winter in America doesn't contain the track Winter in America.

Which LP Dean ?

Another of my favourite LP's is Willie Tee "I'm only a man". Some fabulous tracks including "Take your time" , ""Reach out for me" and "the mirror". A great listen!

Why shouldn't it be allowed, a superb album, plus isn't the fantastic ' Can't Stay Away' previously unreleased ?, always find it hard to believe some fans of soul music ( we are fans aren't we ) ignore albums, it's music all the same no matter the format, so many good album only tracks, plus an ever increasing amount of unreleased material being released via the 33rpm record, the Numero group consistently deliver the goods as do others, plus then we have a heritage of a good 45 plus years to draw on as well, glad to hear you are buying LP's, but why get rid of the 45's ?, enjoy both.

PS.. I loved Steve Plumbs LP only spots at Essence, so much that i followed his trail and had great fun a few years back playing for around 2 hours in Wakefield spinning either alternate LP versions of 45's or LP only tracks.

one that does it for me, night life the miracles bought it on release for the long version of love machine and discovered a whole album of great songs, still play it now,

also the new religion by jimmy james and the vagabonds, came out in US as come to me softly, awesome stuff
