Thought it would be a good idea to post scans, pics, or just name the records that dropped through the letterbox or you have bought somewhere.

I thought it would be good idea to see what we are all buying - it doesn't matter f it is £1 or £cost a fortune, just post it here so we can all see what we managed to get and may a few words on why we bought it?

Moderaters can advise if it is a good thread or not.

I will get the ball rolling with two that came today (Scans below)

1. Young Holt Limited "California Montage" Brunswick USA DEMO - well chuffed, have a stocker, but wanted the demo!

2. Gloria Jones "Tainted Love" USA Champion - label is knackered, vinyl plays great and is in VG++ condition. I bought as I cannot afford a Minty one so got this one for £20 so I can play on original vinyl in my soul do at my house!

Got quite a few things in the post at the mo but one did arrive in the last couple of days.  Smokey 007 - My Precious World.

Clearly one for the deep soul collector. After being on my wants for a while it's the second copy I've bought recently and, although a bit rough, was a good price so I couldn't pass it up.

Not buying much at the moment but this is one of the latest.

21st Generations - I Need Love/Hey James (Tri-City) demo.

Also came out on Ultra-City.

Cheers

Agreed, I think it's a fairly unmentioned cheapie that deserves more play, killer group harmonies there. So jazzed I can't sleep now!

great harmonies on this one!

Here's the last six I've had come.

The Marvin Gaye record is actually a different version to the one I've heard on the net and being played at soul nights, it's got an 80s vibe to it with electric type drumming.. Defo a mistake buying it but its staying in the collection

Is it "Times Are Changing" you're thinking of, mate? Just gave it a listen, seems a pretty standard plodding ballad to my ears  :g:

Almost spent all my Fathers Day money BUT it's now my birthday (and i know that i will get some more) so watch this space.

Never heard this version, its great!

This one arrived yesterday (see below), interestingly I paid £38 (not usre if that was too much), but I bought with the money I got for 1970's yellow label Cantebury repro/boot which I sold on Ebay for £31. Amazing what people are paying for non originals when you can pick the original in some cases for the same or less!

Not much recently but a few nice bits I've been waiting to buy at the right price........mission accomplished!

Sun - Just a Minute of Your Time - Capitol

Larry Marks - Looking Through the eyes of Love - Pala

Silky Hargraves -Hurt by Love - D-Town

I like it a lot, along with a couple of his other 45's.

A few other things arrived, 60's garage stuff.  Of these possibly J.H. + The Esquires on Mus-I-Col may have some interest to the blue-eyed soul fan, (this one arrived pressed massively off centre but plays through fine once it's been cued,) & a Harry Deal & the Galaxies EP on Lotus, which has a couple of good tracks.
