Finally got myself a copy of this beautiful Detroit modern rarity. Sins of Satan "Mother Nature" on Ecology. I was first turned on to this track though a mix Arron Anderson did for Jazzman about three or four years ago. There were some great tracks in that mix.

Heres a link to the mix if you are curious.

I dont know how it happened...but by sheer dumb luck. Right place, right time, lucky enough to be able to scramble and grab the cash from an ATM to secure it. A VG+ copy of Joe Williams "I Started to Run" on Alpha went into my box yesterday!  Holy f***!!! Found by a friend at an estate sale and then purchase by me an hour later! I still am in a bit of disbelief.

MORRIS JONES   HER SPARE   FIRMA ( OBSCURE RnB JIVER..ITS GROWN ON ME MORE EVERYTIME I PLAY IT. SOUNDS KINDA COMMERCIAL 50'S RnB THEN ADDS BREAKS WHICH CHANGE THE FEEL TO MOVE YOUR SOUL AS WELL AS YOUR FEET, POSSIBLY MY FAVE AT THE MOMENT).https://soundcloud.com/rhythmandbluesoul/05-20track-205?in=rhythmandbluesoul/sets/lookin-for-purdy-yeh-yehyeh

JOLLY BOY SHEPPARD   YOU CARE   OKEH.  ( RUNNING A VERY CLOSE SECOND IS THIS.  LOVED IT THE FIRST TIME I HEARD IT, FROM DENBO.  BASS LINE, SIMPLE RHYTHM AND AN IRONMAN VOCAL AND BONGO FILLER= THRILLER).https://soundcloud.com/rhythmandbluesoul/03-20track-203-1?in=rhythmandbluesoul/sets/recent-faves-lovin-this-mix

RICHARD BERRY   BESAME MUCHO  AUDIODISC ACETATE.  (FLIP RELEASE).   POPULAR POPCORN SCENE SOUND, THE VOCAL ON THIS IS SMOOTHER THAN BRIAN RAES CARPET...AT LEAST THE ONE I WALKED ON IN 1988/89.  A SLOWER PACED OUTING THAN THE FEW VERSIONS I'VE HEARD, THAT I FEEL IS THE BEST ).

SEEBURG ORCHESTRA    MIAMI BEACH RHUMBA    SEEBURG REC-O-DANCE.  ODDBALL COVER OF THE 1947 RELEASE BY XAVIER CUGAT. THIS 60'S RECORDING IS, FOR ME A MONSTER INSTRUMENTAL WHICH SUITS THE POPCORN/LATIN SOUND SO WELL.  STRONG BRASS, GREAT GUITAR LICKS AND FLUTE ADD A TOUCH OF CLASS ON THIS).https://soundcloud.com/rhythmandbluesoul/22-20track-2022-1?in=rhythmandbluesoul/sets/recent-faves-lovin-this-mix

LORRY RAINE   EVENTIDE/ESCAPE   MAYFLOWER. ( EVENTIDE IS A BEAUTIFUL SOULFUL BEAT BALLAD/SOUL JAZZ PRODUCTION THAT REEKS OF QUALITY, AND THE MORE UP-BEAT LATIN STYLED ESCAPE IS MAYBE A LITTLE COMMERCIAL SOUNDING BUT FOR ME IS STILL BRILLIANT ).

BARRY GORDON   YOU CANT LIE TO A LIAR   CADENCE.  ( ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS, BIG CITY ORCHESTRAL OBSCURITY. GREAT SONG, GREAT VOCAL PERFORMANCE AND BREAKS TO PIN THE EARS BACK..BRILLIANT ).https://soundcloud.com/rhythmandbluesoul/23-20track-2023-1?in=rhythmandbluesoul/sets/recent-faves-lovin-this-mix

BEN HUGHES   CRAZY MAN   TRUE  WLP    ( THIS MANS VOICE OOOZES QUALITY..THIS DRIVING UPTEMPO RnB DANCER HAS ALL THE INGREDIENTS TO BE HUGE ).https://soundcloud.com/rhythmandbluesoul/11-20track-2011-1?in=rhythmandbluesoul/sets/recent-faves-lovin-this-mix

JOHNNY OTIS   SHAKE IT   PEACOCK   (ANOTHER 53/4 ISH RELEASE HERE, WHICH SOUNDS MORE LIKE 58-61.  NOT SURPRISINGLY AHEAD OF ITS DAY, AT THE HANDS OF JOHNNY...DRUMS , BONGOS, GUITAR AND THAT MAMBO FEEL GIVING A PLATFORM FOR JOHNNY TO GOAD HIS DANCERS UP ONT' DANCEFLOOR).

THERE ARE MORE TO ADD, BUT NEED TO CHECK IF I HAVEN'T ADDED THEM BEFORE.  WILL TRY AND PUT SOUNDFILES UP.

IF YOU LIKE THE RNB, POPCORN AND EARLY SOUL SPECTRUM YOU SHOULD LOVE ANY OF THE ABOVE, IF YOU DONT ALREADY KNOW THEM.

Had a few through recently.  Latterly Harold Conner - I'll Be There.  I'd been looking for it for a while so pretty pleased.

I have this with a different title and artist, but basically the same record....aarrgghhh, cant remember..Billy Adams?

Don't think you can tell from the pic but that record looks like it's got a case of warts, but it plays great.

Also landed today ... Isley Brothers - Tell Me It's Just A Rumour - TMG 877 first issue, brilliant cheapie to be filed with the likes of Bobby Hebb.

Yes, Billy Adams..I need your love...london issue.  release4d 1969.  ( think its a 1960 recording though).  Cant seem to find a U.S release.  Says recorded by PPX enterprises.     Nice version what you've got there. will have to have a looksie for one.

Yes, I like the B side of the Billy Adams 45.

The Harold Conner 45 is one of those that normally has a couple of pen crosses on the "plug" A side which, if you like a good ballad, is well worth a listen in it's own right.  I hadn't heard it so it was a bonus when I listened to it.  I'll try to add it to the refosoul index, or maybe my youtube channel, at some point.

Looking at old SS topics this is one of only a few known copies of   the Luther Ingram Orchestra  'Exus Trek'  on an orange stock copy with Detroit address and 'Wylie' credit.

Even though I mainly collect modern and crossover stuff this is an iconic instrumental and one I really wanted, I used to have it on the orange 70's reissue but sold it years ago..

Listed as vg condition  because of some slight surface scuffs to the vocal side  'Exus Trek'  is in great, glossy, condition,  a VG ++ and both sides play strong and clear!!

No drill hole either..

Pete

and being a total technophobe I am unable to provide a link to the song! Please can someone explain how to do such wizardry!?
