F*cking Flamma Sherman at £230, I have TWO of these and have listed them at £50 each and got no takers whatsoever. Who are these people paying such stupid prices, if they go on Discogs they'd fi

But compare the Flamma Sherman price to that, and the quality of the record - dear me...

Left field stuff is the best stuff.
James Washington Lee - 5 years later made one of the greatest Northern Soul records of all-time.
This is Morris Chestnut’s debut single 45 that impressed producer George Motola so much so, he became automatic the lead vocalist of George’s group on Mar-Kay - the VOWS.
Morris wrote both sides of these richly arranged vocal-group Doo-Wop’s. Morris’s lead vocal is in familiar warbling form, hitting all those notes that would feature strongly in his “TOO DARN SOULFUL” masterpiece.
A totally unique vocal style that enabled him to be considered by Europeans as a SOUL GIANT! whether he be with The Vows, The Attractions or credited as a lone artist, this guy’s vocal delivery is awesome.
A 45 for the serious Soul collectors, the completists who are not ashamed of a little hero-worship, especially now that Morris’s son is a highly regarded actor.
Piece of history, presented here as a flawless summer of ‘62 platter. .

“I Am Nothing”
we are all nothing when confronted with music of this immense presence.!
WHITE DEMO - all 4 drumsticks on the label - not a blemish in sight - collections worldwide are poorer for it’s absence…

So different, so compelling and so elusive!
Check out the totally seductive soundfile that gives up a fascinating blend of Jazz, Blues & Soul. A prompting sax instantly grabs your attention, as it follows Wendel Westerns bluesy vocal through a maze of instruments, enhanced by an uplifting girl group back up.
The innovative arrangement has surprises at every turn, with individualistic breaks and intelligent use of all the components avoiding any chance of a falling away in a humdrum production.
If the handful that turned up a few years back, had not surfaced I think this 45 would now be a hugely expensive tune.. as it does have everything necessary for the Monster dancefloor reaction.
As it is, this rare disc is sitting patiently waiting it’s turn for stardom. Records this different, this good and this infectious always in the end come through when least expected to take their place in Northern Soul history.
Listen and you’ll fully understand our sentiments.
We think it’s BRILLIANT! ……….ps the flipside is great also..
