Is there one ? Thorght it was a UK only on 45 

UK only Paul I'm afraid. Am guessing the only US way of owning it would be a test press etc but never seen one!

uk issue is cheap, eBay is littered with them, should cost you a tenner.... also, Kent put out an Inst version, just with the backing, well worth getting that is, you might buy that as a Mp3 download of the Ace records web site..

It's not a pop record!  It's a straight forward 70's soul record with excellent lyrics.  Nothing wrong with it!

Dont take any notice of the Harold Melvin version its a piss about with slowed down vocals done on a pc

brilliant track vocal and as an inst, still a tenner on uk, even if some noob paid 200 quid... A lazy man with taste... 

"House For Sale" first came out on her 'Free And In Love' album from 1976 which got both a US & UK outing.

As the track never had a US release on 45 this means it must've first got air play as an album only track (though I've never seen, heard or read anything from anybody to either confirm or deny this).

Then due to specialised demand from up north it came out in the UK later that year on a 7inch (but not in the US).

The album mix wades in a shade over 4 minutes long and is a touch more mellow whereas me thinks they've beefed up the single mix more to sound better on the dance floor and trimmed it down to a more manageable 3 and a bit minutes.

Was definatly played off the us album 76 at sale and blackpool mecca. Swapped one for caprees how to make a sad man glad, not too much difference in tempo.

Nothing wrong with this particular Millie record or loads of her other stuff.
