Remember this stomping instrumental very well from youth club days but not heard it played out for many a year

Was it a casino spin or did it go back to the Wheel

 

 

I remember it getting played at the Casino but it could have been in M,s

Deffo - Casino Main floor Friday oldies night massive sound also at St Ives late 76 early 77 before getting closed down

1978 as a 13 year old and just getting into Northern Soul the local youth clubs used to play stuff the older lads had brought back from the casino and Cleggy.The soulies at my youth club loved the 100mph stompers and Along Comes Mary was a fave.Others were The Kid  ---  Andre Brasseur, Dance A la Musique--French Fries, willie Mitchel--The Champion. Lovelites--Get Him Off my Conscience. Exciters-- Reaching for the best

 

 

I recall it being a John Vincent spin first covered-up as Mike Post Coalition - All Of My Feelings

Wow thought every soullie had heard this one as Zoom says it was massive at one time like it or not.Personally always liked it prob  a nostalgia thing

I was late to the party though and hardly any instrumentals were being played.

 

harlem rumble was a big record or was having a revival.

Yep, massive if you were around in 77/78, not sure if it had been played before that but as you say a nostalgia record for some of us...

This was huge at Cleethorpes Dayers And Niters Mid. 70s  coz we used to play it for Mary Chapman Bless her, used to make her smile 

One of those Instrumentals that sounds Great over a large  Sound System Like they had at the Pier, Huge Base - Bins and the biggest horns i'd ever seen!

Hi Andy sure it was a Sam spin first  late 77  early 78   played same time as the camp " marching" but  I may be wrong I'll check with Martin next time I see him
