Tony . Top man great taste in music. 

One DJ/ promoter I know used to be a area manager for B n Q. Another for either Tetley Walker or Greenalls brewery can't remember which one, a legendary casino DJ was a Maintenance fitter at Heinz 57 Wigan but nothing as exotic as Tony's

I think it was around 1985, although the title of the vid says 1987 ish.

Loughborough town hall.  Think thats a young ali mayer talking after the vicar who is a fine dj much respected in these parts. The year would be after the oddfellows got closed due to drugs mid 80s.

Hiya, I used to go to Loughborough town hall late 7ts and I remember an odfellows reunion at the town hall, prob 87 ?, Cheers

Yup defo a young Ali Mayer.  He used to run the Central England Soul Club.  Leicester Oddfellows was his baby, which was just before my time, but I caught the Loughborough Town Hall All-nighters.

Bizarrely we actually discussed that clip down at st ives weekender the other year where he played a superb set in memory of a much loved leicester soulboy and dj lee volwes.

Ali used to do some fantastic sets at Willington social club before its sad closure 😢 last year

Yes mate. Went the first one but coming down from Manchester via Stoke for a 1am finish was a little bit too far unfortunately. Shame because the music policy is fantastic. Will definitely be returning when this is all over but not monthly like i used to for Willington

Weve been a couple of times good night. 

It was 87 summer time if i remember right i stopped going to loughborough & was going to all the do's in the west of the country 😉
