ive never heard it before,but straight off the bat this has got to be fake? The disc itself doesn’t look right,and the song is a mock up! Sounds like they have sped up Tony’s voice then added it to the backing track? The phrasing start to finish is exact?

has this been a discussed,sussed out in the past?

 

With you on this sounds odd the recording studio did exist but doesn’t sound right

Agree mate.....sounds completely made up with the vocal being a tweak of Tony's.

I thought there had been an inquiry/discussion about it on here yonks ago where it was determined that it was just a bit of jiggery-pokery in Audacity or similar.

Buggered if I can find anything in the Search box though so it might have been a FB squabble ... ?

Yes, very likely somebody was naughty with some clever algorithms.

Dodgy record  dealer sold it to Rob Messer supposedly.....he got it to a record dealer in Vienna who pressed it up...respected .record dealers were selling it until someone slowed it down and low and behold it was Middleton all along ...pinky and perky.

Yes, this came up about ten years ago, and it was simply Tony Middleton with a pitch shift. Same or similar tempo but the pitch raised dramatically, presumably to sound like a female, athough I'm not sure of the species.

I don't know who or where is was pressed up, but they were for sale on Juno, and may still be.

There was a free program, can’t remember the name where you could alter the vocal but leave the backing untouched. 
This one deffo Tony Middleton messed about with.

you could do quite easy it with sound forge back in the  late 1990s and guess others

just increase the pitch and as ya say if affects the vocal and leaves the backing

given up being surprised that people are falling for it still

 

Both the vocal AND the backing have had their PITCH raised identically, and in each case their TEMPO remains the same or similar. In other words the track was processed as one "noise".

If the vocal was processed seperately, leaving the music untouched, then it would be horribly off key.

Since this was done there has been separation programs available to adjust a vocal track independently of music, and is used if the singer is off key.

To make a male sound female whilst leaving the music untouched (eg. creating a duet) is also something that now available, but at the moment has a very small range. It's called Form or Formant adjustment.

yep as said, you raised the pitch... of the track - after doing so the vocal sounds different the backing didn't

Yes, I just wanted to clarify that the pitch of the vocal AND the backing are raised together, IDENTICALLY.

Is is easy to notice a vocal that has been changed, but not so noticable with music.  In this case the vocal "sounds" different (that's because it is), wheras the music may "sound" untouched (but in reality, it is different, just as different as the vocal).

To demonstrate the differences in the music, here is a short clip of the two intros, First part is the intro from the Cindy thing, followed buy the same intro by Tony.
