Ok its that time again...

once every 5 or so years we do have to do a serious upgrade to the site system software

Due to the nature of the upgrade and the custom side of the main  site features  along with the amount and the age of the content on here it can be just a bit problematic.

Plan is to start it all next Monday Night 12th May 2025. Once the upgrade has been carried out , there may be a lot of work afterwards to get the main features back up and running as you are used to, so

Anyway ideally the total process will take no more than 3 days ,The site should be available but as said some main features may be lacking or indeed absent for a short time

Just letting ya know in advance, all happening next week

Yes Mike that is what I am seeing, I need to remove the right hand column, I wear wide field varifocal specs and it makes reading the posts distracting.

Thanks

Martyn, there's no easy way to offer that at the current moment

a work around could be to drag your browser window so its smaller in width, as when the site hits a certain width the sidebar falls down and out of view and so it will then be single pane view

any good?

thats odd as the image shows dark text but the browsers doesn't

so the theory is got to be the browser settings?

have you got another browser on your pc you could test the site out on?

if that's the same it may be your pc settings?

Strange -

I use Firefox normally, but I just tried it in Chrome and Opera and it's fine. I think the problem with Firefox is the distinction between bold and light text is lost, as if any styling is not happening.

For me at least using opera is an ok workaround.

Cheers

Its ok here, maybe a browser issue, as some have had issues with the editor, can you try another one and see if the same?

Hi Mike,

You right, the delay in letters appearing only occurs when I'm using Safari on my iPad. Using Google browser to reply an the digits appear instantly.

I guess I'm just gonna have to live with the delay on my iPad.

yep can't do much for older browser versions, maybe type elsewhere then use copy and paste for the longer posts

just checked on firefox here and it all seems ok from here, same as other browsers, maybe its a firefox settings thing?

have to smile as just thought that you can always use our brand new 'dark view'!

I really like the dark mode - it's much less eye strain than the white background! Big thumbs up from me! thumbup

Mike,

Don't know if these have been mentioned or brought to your attention but the Google maps have "disappeared" from the events page .

I just looked the Twisted Wheel event for 25th May and the map was there.

Logged to change something and when I saved the change, the map has gone with the following error-

error text.jpg

No matter what I try, It will not return

This happens on my windows 11 PC and also on Android phone.

The other minor thing is when adding the "END" time for the event I cannot get the colon ":" to show betwen hour and minute.

Hi Mike

I've noticed that the paid for pink event banners/headers are no longer showing on the activity stream when they used to before the upgrade x

It's an old version of Windows (Win 7), so that's probably the root problem.

Hi Mike,

Hope all ok.

I can’t locate sales feedback page on new format.

Any advice?

Hi Keamus

been mentioned a few times above

feedback is off line at the moment

up to 2 weeks , as said waiting for the author of that app to update, if not available by then will look at an alternative version/setup - data is kept so hopefully wont be too much of a pain or too long

a week or so left

cheers

I'll try that Mike, but where can I find Dark View. Thanks.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page Mick - in the left hand corner there are 3 icons - click on the one that looks like a half-moon for the dark option. I find the dark mode causes much less eye strain! Hope this helps.
