A cover version of "What's going on" just went on ebay for $3,300 or something like it. There's a couple of different versions around but that is the most xpensive.

Love to hear that. Wonder who bought it?

Any idea what format it came out in vinyl/acetate?

and none as good as Marvin whistling.gif

There was a full sound file of both sides with the ebay sale, I took a copy so will post the file when I get the chance.

Intersting one

Listen to it at https://www.crazybeat.co.uk/

100 % better than last release - Lord Large Tosh.

But you have to question the Acid Jazz's wisdom in trying to re-create the magic of "It'll Never Be Over For Me"

What next a cover of " Whats Going On"

DIDNT HE SING THIS AT CLEETHROPES ACOUPLE OF YEARS AGO

How is this going down at Northern events then?

I know it's been popular on the Funk scene for quite a while now, but didn't think it would be as apt' for the Northern scene.

Should probably point out that this track has been comp'ed on a fantastic compilation by Josh Davis (AKA DJ Shadow) and the legendary Mr Keb Darge!

Funk Spectrum Vol.1: Real Funk for Real People.

All the best,

Rich.

...apart from Donny Hathaway's, which is just as good. The Undisputed Truth's cut on their "Face To face" album is pretty formidable, too. And if you like 'oddball', Tom Clay's 'version' on his "What the World Needs Now" set is all that and more....

...so, in the final analysis, that's one version as good and two versions nearly as good. Marvin's live version is pretty decent, too, of course...
