  1. And me please Dave. Label looks great too
  2. It has had a bit of an airing over the years. Not much though. I suppose rarity plays a part in how much turntable action a record gets. Obviously the rarer the record the less chance there is of it getting played. It also depends on whether the owner has the guts to play it. Come back Rob Marriot that's what I say!
  3. Have you had it a long time? Reason I'm asking is for a record that is supposed to be one of the rarest on the planet.. there's quite a few of them around
  4. And like Rich has already said, you could call it Doni Burdick
  5. I always thought it was but I'm sure I have heard Butch, Andy Killick and Andy Dyson all play it at Burnley recently. Does Carl Fortnum have one too? That would make at least three/maybe four copies. Still mighty rare without doubt. But how many copies are there out there?
  6. I just thank God Rob had faith in his records and the guts to continue playing them week after week, despite getting slagged off and clearing the floor. You only have to look at how huge records like the Trannels and the Hyperions went on to become to realise he was right. Those were exciting times. Never to be repeated I am sad to say.
  7. Rob used to get slaughtered for playing records such as the one's mentioned in this thread, along with others like the Trannels and the Hyperions. (and we all know how huge those two records went on to become). Whenever I think back to Rob's heyday, I can't help thinking thank God there was no Soul Source. Jeez, can you imagine the frenzy in Lookbacks - he plays a record that completely clears the floor at a venue, only to play the exact same record again later on in his spot.
  8. Rob was the man. For me, he was better than Butch. Great times indeed!
  9. Great tune! Despite sounding like he's singing "....pigs kidneys"
  10. I'd say you would have at least a hundred people biting your hand off for this record. Simply stunning!
  11. Don't jump down my throat people - I've got to ask Do they use the original recordings in the film and not cover versions?
  12. I may be wrong, but I got the impression he was talking about the people making the film.
  13. It was covered up the first time I heard it Pete, so I didn't dislike it because of who it was by. Some people like it. Some people don't. The same as every other record that gets played.
  14. I do hope it will be a good film. I'm not feeling the least bit positive about it however.
  15. Who's offended? Yes, people have said they don't like it. Can't remember anyone saying they were offended by it though.
  16. Wow. Didn't know the film was actually finished. Wonder if they've contacted any of the extras they enlisted via this site and asked them to go along and see it? Anybody? Anyway, here's hoping it's good
  17. Just another case of rarity and price over quality imo. Still interesting though I have to say.
  18. He means the people who wouldn't believe it was a Sonny & Cher record
  19. Chalky, have you tried asking Mel? He has loads of pictures and I'm almost certain he has one of Morris Chestnut.
  20. He's usually at Burnley Paul. I'm sure someone could do the honours.
  21. OMG... I can't watch in case they get squashed! Do they get squashed?
  22. Blimey. Really want to hear this too!
  23. Netty and Azza had Big Dee Irwin 'You Satisfy My Needs' at theirs. Not a dry eye in the house I can tell you. Oooh... not long now my dear Munchies. Going to be a fantastic day
