  1. Anybody got both of these Uk compilations for sale, both came out mid nineties on the Double O'Soul label Must be in ex con with their track listing sheets Thanks
  2. Spot on chalky ! That was the yarn I was always spun by scotlands finest export ! Now in Indonesia. ! Raistrick find, Rushbrooke spun.... Always a big tune spun at Scots allnighters mid eighties by the likes of Andy Dennison who has and always had quality taste....
  3. Yep, I can also confim that story from a teenager growing up in central scotland, my mates big brother and his mates were all going round the country at the time bricklaying , mid 84 / 85 and ended up in Wigan one month on a site, they duly started seeing a couple of local girls and after conversation one night back at a girls flat, she produced a bag full of original patches and proceeded to dish them out to the lads. ! They duly refused stating they had all been regular goers since the late 70's and had them already but were all duly pissed off that they had dedicated a " major " part of their early lives attending the Casino to get the badges to see them passed around the local area in years to come like surplus baggage and kids pannini football stickers, very sad all round.......................................................
  4. The buyer for the These Kind of Blues Lp could of picked one up from Craig Moerer for £50.00 ! Still has it If any album buyers from now on miss out on their record bids in the last few mins , drop me a line, I only charge a flat finders fee of £ 100.00 ! Am sure you can afford it ! ;-)
  5. We could have this conversation all week, and Jesus when it comes to jm's auctions we regularly do ! As usual, supply and demand, my black rca copy went west to Leeds a few years ago for nearly £200, and my mates gold rca copy went north for nearly £400 recently Last Orange copy I saw went for £40 !
  6. Its also on the Four Tops - Meeting of the Minds Lp , cheap as chips !!
  7. A blast from the past indeed ! We'll be talking about The Kenetts - You Got Me Baby next ! Two of my favourite instrumentals ;-)
  8. Last one on sale here in May was mint condition , seller asking £400.00
  9. Last copy on here was £200.00 last month, don't know if it sold or not, a great oldie and likewise don't get stung on the boot !
  10. Thanks for the replies so far, it amazes me the amount of people I have met over the years who bought this as a new release at the time in 74' and sold it for peanuts later on ! My copy came from a Mecca regular, 71' - 79 ' who remembers them touring at various venues in the North West at the time to promote the album release, she bought it the next day, so that would tie in with the previous comments ;-)
  11. Always loved the album and lucky enough to own one , but just watched one finish on Ebay for £370.00 !!!!! No way did I think it was worth that much , is it undergoing a revival or just in-demand ?
  12. Still looking if anybody has one......
  13. Anybody ? Don't bother telling me about the one on discogs, £ 27.00 , must be Manship's brother !
  14. I got mine from a car boot in Preston about 87 along with the badge for 50p Stand out track for me was The Miracles - Gotta Dance To Keep From Crying, quite quirky with tracks and the artists introducing themselves in between Both now long gone, however I would probably of got a lot of funny looks nowadays wearing the badge as it clearly states at the top " Swinger and Friend " !!!!!! Last one I saw in a sales box was about £40.00
  15. My experience would be purchasing Tommy Turner - Lady , thinking I had just purchased Lazy !!! That last year of Stafford was rather hazy to say the least !!!!!
  16. If anybody wants a copy of that mag, there's one on eBay now , the Bowie edition, and no I'm not the seller !! ;-)
  17. I was at a 50th birthday a few weeks ago, my mate got one of the other lads to dj, marquee job and bar in garden, about 100 people, blah blah.... Anyway the guy did a three hour set throughout the night and had everybody up dancing and thoroughly enjoyed themselves, the birthday boy congratulated him at the end of the night for a top set of tunes during the evening and asked him to make a playlist as he really liked some of the more underplayed stuff played.... His face was a picture when the lad confessed he had used the guy's own record collection throughout the entire evening, with the guys wife's permission, playing album tracks, b sides and those forgotten sounds that you really don't hear anymore.... Priceless....
  18. Anybody got one for Sale in tip top condition ?
  19. One of the main issues is lack of knowledge regarding what is an original / bootleg / reissue, etc... There were a lot of very good quality pressings made in the 70's which flooded the market as we are all aware, but to get a working knowledge of what's real or not takes years to build up or you could just carry a copy of Manship's guide around all the time ! Even some of the experts have been caught out in their day ! You just have to look at evil bay to see the vast amount of dross being sold out there.. ..
  20. Thanks for posting, brilliant as always ! Just out of curiosity what was Soul Bowl selling them for at the time / anybody get one for a couple of quid at the time ?
  21. Anybody got a set of the five cd's for sale hidden at the back of the garage !! Thanks
