Oh The Irony?
It's been the case for a long time Mark. There's still quite a lot of old duffers in modern rooms too though

Glen Miller - Where Is The Love...history On The Northern Soul Scene
It's more revered as a crossover sound rather than northern. As Pete said, late 90s

Your Soul Event Of 2014 Was
On second thoughts, it was the Norman Connors gig on the South Bank in March. Cracking warm up do with the DJ's playing stuff from Mr Connors, Roy Ayers, Webster Lewis, etc. Great way to spend a Sunday

The People Who Influenced You And Became Your 'hero'
Hero's really? Unless you're going to pick someone like Stevie Wonder, it's difficult to consider anyone in the UK a hero for playing records or putting on events.

Stanky - Billy Davis Talk (Split From Orig Thread)
I'd never heard Stanky until this thread. It reminds me of that awful Sister James record that was massive about 10 years ago. Pleased I'm not missing much by not going out these days

Top 500 'fans'...look Away Now
It was even sneered at on the modern scene. Bloody awful record

Northern Soul Records That Are Influenced By Better Known Records
Bunny Sigler's "Can You Dig It" also sounds a lot like "Ain't That Peculiar" to me

What's Your Favourite Funk 45
Here's something well know by what I think is a very underrated artist on the soul scene. I think he's great! Rick James - Give It To Me Baby https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dNIQVYGXbM

Quality Crossover Discovery - Opinions, Thoughts, Information?
It doesn't sound like 80's to me. More like early 70's imo

Grapevine Records
I don't know how you can say that almost every 70s record released by Grapevine is crap. 1 star for Leo's Sunship. You must be joking!

Old Tunes With A New Twist
The remix of Quiet Storm was also really well done on that CD.

Where's The Time Gone
I was there that night. It was my first ever allnighter north of London. The modern room was great too and there was even a crossover room. I didn’t know what it was then and I was further confused when someone played “Tune Up” lol. I remember going on another occasion the following July and the allnighter couldn’t open until after midnight as there was a wedding reception going on. It was a lovely evening though so remember sitting on the grass outside chatting to Dave Thorley and a few others until we could get in.

Temptations Stay Price Anyone
I think anyone who is tempted to pay a ridiculous price for a relatively recent record, should seriously consider buying the CD instead and get the "False Faces" track too thrown in.
