“Can’t Get You Off My Mind” on Dome from about 8 years back is great too.

Motown - The Musical
I think they're standard Broadway prices Dave.

Motown - The Musical
I’m off to NY in June and fancy seeing this. The Ticketmaster link is working anymore. Any ideas of how I can find out more? I’d love to see Marva Hicks.

Sharonettes - Papa Ooh Mow Mow - Did It Come Out On Any Import?
I actually quite like it. The instrumental version anyway

New Vinyl Recommendations
Seeing as we're also including stuff that came out more than a few years ago. How about this fantastic record by Richard Stepp.

Philly Re-Grooved Vol 3: More From The Master: The Tom Moulton Remixes
Looks great Ian. I didn't really like the first two volumes but this is much more up my street.

New Vinyl - Are We Bothered
Big article on them in today’s Daily Mirror. Only very young lads it seems. I must check them out.

New Vinyl - Are We Bothered
I’m not bothered about it at all. Playing a record indoors is a bit of a pain these days. It’s much more convenient to buy a CD/download and transfer it to my ipod. I can listen to it anywhere then. I only buy records these days if they’re not available on any other format or if I come across a second hand record shop and can’t help myself. I’ve bought some records over the past year and haven’t played them yet.

Linda Jones - Marmite Soul?
I can see you what mean that some people might regard her as being a bit over the top but, in my book, she's fantastic. One of the all time greats!

Flowers - For Real
I agree Benji. I've never liked it much myself. I much prefer "We Can Make It Happen"

What Would Of Happened If Darell Banks Had Lived?
It would be nice to think so, but unlikely imo. He hadn’t attained it at that point so I don’t think he would later, unless he put out some belter early 70s LPs, which could have been possible if he teamed up with the right crew.

Charles Bradley New Album
I missed Jools Holland last night. I thought his last CD was great so look forward to this one too

Third Finger, Left Hand - Stageplay
It got quite a bad review in the Evening Standard last week. I get the impression that any link or reference to northern soul is flakey.

Two Step - What Is It?
Tent Music was a term created after the crossover sessions at the Cala Gran, Fleetwood weekenders in about 2001 is the massive marquee attached to the side of the building. What were the Ohio Players live like at the weekender in 1993?

I suppose a few obvious examples are: Leroy Hutson — Because of You Bobby Womack — Woman’s Gotta Have It Beverly & Duane — I Wanna Be With You Stephanie Mills — Keep Away Girls- Instrumentals
Jr Walker & The All Stars "Tune Up" has to be one of my faves- Two Step - What Is It?
I love two step. It’s mainly late 70s to early 80s stuff. I won’t provide a list of records because someone will say that a certain track doesn’t qualify. The deeper into these sub-genres you go, the more anoraky and aggressive people become. You should see the debate on EMS about two step recently. I’m no expert on it but know what I like!- Alfie Davison - Love Is A Serious Business
Who was Alfie Davison? Did he do anything else?- Alfie Davison - Love Is A Serious Business
It's a funny song. Very catchy and instant. One I used to like a lot when I first heard it over 25 years ago. Now I think of it as a cheesy tune that may have got played on a 70s tv show. Something like "Love Is In The Air"- There's Just No Pleasing Some Folks
I didn't realise 5 stars should be the default unless there's been a problem. I generally only give 5's for total outstanding perfection. Otherwise, 3 or 4s. Perhaps that's my misunderstanding of the system.
