Should they be considered Northern soul Artist
Not in my opinion and you can add the following to the list as well, Helen Shapiro, Elvis Presley with his rubber neck, not forgetting recently seen Dolly Parton mentioned, FFS! ?

Thanks for the replies. Stick them back in the box then. Peter, I do more lurking now than anything else. ?

Picture Covers Valuation
Being permanently skint, I was debating whether to sell a couple of records or not. I've a Don Thomas DJM promo and a Harold Melvin Get Out (French Vogue), which I've recently seen listed at £100 each. What I'd really like is a more realistic value, to be honest I only thought they were worth about a tenner each.

Are we really gonna let it die with us?
I thought Suinoz opinion was very informative, but now I know to disregard every word they said. Thank you Toad for pointing me in the right direction.

Are we really gonna let it die with us?
Let whoever play whatever, youngsters are bound to veer towards the laptop type events. Weird really when you think how skew whiff we look at things. Pay hundreds & thousands of pounds on original vinyl (with no money going to artists/writers etc.,) and be held up as doing it the right way. Go on Ace/Kent site and pay to download mp3 tracks (royalties paid) and get pilloried for using a laptop! Go figure... The King is Dead, Long Live the King!

John Gary Williams - Clarification
I have a demo copy with the 'S', so I am assuming it's just different pressing plants. Having a little look around on the net, I discovered that Light In The Attic did a Stax box set, containing a reissue of this, but not in a demo format. https://lightintheattic.net/releases/701-never-to-be-forgotten-the-flip-side-of-stax-1968-1974 Also on Discogs it refers to some markings in the runouts. As follows: Matrix / Runout (A side / Plug side): STSX-0787-1 SS-01435 -L.NIX- Matrix / Runout (B side): STSX-0788-1 SS-01436 -L.NIX- My runout shows as above with just the following difference, STSX-0787-13 (instead of STSX-0787-1), but the first picture in this topic taken from an Ebay listing, quite clearly shows STSX-0787-8. So like I've stated, I would go down the road of different pressing plants. Plus I am certain I purchased my copy before 2012.

Drill/BB Hole when grading records
Drill holes I believe should be mentioned, especially if there is no picture of the said record for sale. Personally drill holes don't bother me too much, but they may others. I mean if sticker marks or writing on labels get mentioned (also affect price), why shouldn't drill holes be mentioned? I suppose it's all down to a personal choice.

venue clashing
How long does ones apprenticeship last? Who decides that someone has completed their apprenticeship? Would you obtain a NVQ or do you have to hold an original City & Guilds to qualify to attend an OVO event? I've read some cobblers in my time...

Thanks for the offer, but cheaper stock copy would suffice.

Real or not ? Don Gardner on the bay
Surely any collector would have researched whether this was an original or not? If they just want one for playing at home, why don't they just get a Grapevine 2000 issue?

Beach Ballroom, Aberdeen Allnighter, 31st Oct, Playlist
I've had that Al Kent record for years, always liked it, but I've never heard it played out. Seems I need to go to Aberdeen .

Jackie Ross - Dynamite Lovin' - Chess - Wanted
I'm after a copy of Jackie Ross , Dynamite Lovin' on Chess records. Must be excellent condition , prefer no writing on labels, but not a necessity depending on price. I have seen some on Discogs and John Manships, but thought I'd try and see if I could get a cheaper copy on here first.

Label Stickers and Stamps
Here's a couple from my box. The Barbara Acklin one always puzzled me, thought if it had been a sample would have just been a demo copy?

European import duties
In the past few months I've bought a couple of records from the USA on ebay both were $80 plus $12 postage. On both transactions I didn't request any special postage or amendments to values, just made normal payment via PayPal. I didn't pay any import charges nor was I requested to . In the past 10 years I've only ever had to pay import charges once. If these charges are having such an affect on others, than I must be either fortunate or there not such a problem as some think. IMO.
