  1. Is there actually a track listing anywhere of what Ian played on the show please? If not, anyone who has listened fancy doing one? Cheers Richard
  2. The better side actually IMO Cheers Richard
  3. Here it is Cheers Richard Jimmy Mack - Go On (Palmer 5019 B DJ) https://soundcloud.com/user1502162/jimmy-mack-go-on-palmer-5019-b
  4. Apologies if this is not quite a ballad - Gwen Owens - "Still True To You" is a slow sound from my youth Cheers Richard
  5. Hey Matt - great idea for a thread Here's one. Flip over the Northern side - Nelson Sanders - Mojo Man (Rambler) You get - I'm Lonely (which was the official A-Side) I once wrote this about the song which tells you something about how I feel about it ... Rambler was part of Lou Beatty's La Beat set-up, and for me this is the most gut-wrenching soulful vocal performance ever committed to vinyl - deep, deep soul. The genius of this recording lies in the combination of the emotionally raw vocal, with the powerful simplicity of the lyrics. Blows me away every time! And if you like up-tempo stomping Detroit - just flip it over for 'Mojo Man'. Cheers Richard https://soundcloud.com/user1502162/nelson-sanders-im-lonely

Spot on Keith Plus I also love these cheapies: Say It (Ric-Tic) Chains Of Love (Groovesville) Cheers Richard
  7. Martha Star - Love Is The Only Solution/I'm Lonely (Thelma). Had never heard either side but already had 'No Part Time Love For Me', which I loved, and so just chanced it. It was upstairs at John Manship's Tracks Records in Melton - 1979 I think. Cost me 8 quid though Cheers Richard
  8. I can't listen tonight - can someone offer to let me have a recording please? Would be much appreciated. Cheers Richard
  9. That really is superb Dave Also, shows what a great song the original is - such a great, great but very simple, tune - sign of genius Cheers Richard
  10. OK - so I put this lot as a set on SoundCloud - 30 tracks in the above running order - just click on the player below - hope you enjoy it If you click on "Listen on Soundcloud.com" underneath the player you get the full info with the track listing etc. These tracks are also there on my SoundCloud to listen to individually on soundcloud.com under Premium Stuff Cheers Richard
  11. On the same theme - also avoid this one - even though the band name sounds promising it's basically C&W Owen & Paul & The Drifters - Dear Mom (Giant #704) A darned shame Richard
  12. The Gems truly is a fabulous, fabulous Northern record  Richard
  13. Hi Roger No wonder it wasn't a huge hit (although the Carl Carlton version did OK I believe). Look at the title! "I Don't Know How (To Say I Love You) Don't Walk Away" Snappy or what! I have some more info on a ZTSC copy of the above rather than Archer stamped (I have both) and also two releases of the same on the original local Dynamics label when I can get round to it. The title and label print on the two Dynamics presses is different - one not quite as confusing as the above. Cheers Richard
  14. Yann mate - you don't say how much the Billy Sha-Rae is or what condition it is in Cheers Richard
  15. Hi Matt Really sorry to hear about what happened. Sorry, I don't have any of the records but please wish Jonathan a speedy recovery and I hope you manage to pick up some of the 45s for him. Cheers Richard
  16. Here's a favourite for me from the '70s Sandra Richardson - Stay Here With Me (Inter/Soul 103 A) https://soundcloud.com/user1502162/sandra-richardson-stay-here Cheers Richard
  17. Looks that way Steve My copy of Tony Daniels # 103 with the Gordon Berry credit is clean as is my #103 Tony Daniels credit Plus I have two copies of The Abstract Reality on #104. One copy is completely clean. The other has the Gordon Berry credit evidently 'erased'and then written back in with a black 'felt pen'. Cheers Richard
  18. Thanks for the great info guys Cheers Richard
  19. Cynthia & Imaginations - Why Weren't You There (I Needed You) on Blue Rock No idea why it's rare though Cheers Richard

Sometimes when paying by gift the purchaser gets fees e.g. When using a credit card or sending a gift payment abroad - not always though and I'm not sure what the criteria are that trigger fees on a gift. Purchaser can then opt to get the seller to pay the fees. Payment by gift should always be associated with an unconditional no quibble refund IMO - especially for SS sales. Cheers Richard
  21. It is open to offers and I have already noted an interest in offering by PM. This is not a set sale. Richard
  22. Just got to agree with you Russ - it's a great record Cheers Richard
  23. Thanks guys When you say erased what do you mean please? Rubbed out somehow, or crossed out with pen, or stickered over? Cheers Richard
  24. Fair point Bob - thanks So, based on the above info, my conclusion is that #103 Tony Daniels was pressed and issued originally with the Gordon Berry credit on the instrumental. This release was issued simultaneously with or was followed quickly by The Abstract Reality on #104 which consequently also had the Gordon Berry credit. Due to objections received, and in view of the need to supply more 45s 45 because it sold OK, Tony Daniels on #103 was re-pressed and also re-credited to remove the Gordon Berry credit. No action was taken on The Abstract Reality 45, possibly because it didn't sell much so no need to re-press it. Or, the second problem with the Gordon Berry credit may have meant it was held back or withdrawn etc. - perhaps this being the cause of its relative rarity. Thanks again guys! Right, I'll get my anorak Cheers Richard
