  1. what happens if you only want the one?
  2. Almost but not quite - it duplicates the tracks in a different order, plus B.A.P.S LP has a couple more on...so i'll say go for that one instead... The additions on Behind A Painted Smile: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGZ07VWZEUI Obviously re-packaged as a cash-in, since "Take Me..." was their last 45 for Motown prior to them leaving for pastures new.
  3. There's another final reason for cutting acetates - to push songs to other companies for 'their' artists to record... Most famous of these would be Ben E King - Gettiing to me. I had a copy of a Teddy Randazzo track that had 'The Olympics' on the label along with the sheet music; this had obviously been sent to the Olympics as a demo for them to record.
  4. The RSG discs were obviously made for the dancers to practice to....
  5. fryers is a recent issue - last few years - and i belive it's a slightly different take.
  6. No Jobete credit on the LP sleeve - it states all selections are BMI. Label just has the writers credit.
  7. I make all of my auctions private, as some buyers don't want other folks knowing what they've bought...
  8. Shell Nut. Rearrange it....
  9. I'd rate it at about a tenth of the price achieved - a US issue might make £35 on a fair day with a wind behind it...
  10. Hardly unknown, its an old Bradford Queens Hall spin...
  11. It's rare and expensive but vocally the value is close to zilch.
  12. Pat Hunt on Grand.
  13. I think most are - the UK Sue LP sleeves seem to be printed on lower quality card with a thinner laquer than say EMI (Garrod & Lofthouse) sleeves - hence them getting dog-eared pretty quick.
  14. Got a UK release on Stateside....
  15. There for me - but i'm using Firefox...
  16. bad link - takes me to my own selling page...
  17. The term Beat Ballad was already in common use when I started going out in '88.
  18. Read the eBay auction here Pete - it's enough to make even your hair curl... https://www.ebay.com/itm/UK-TAMLA-MOTOWN-DEMO-BARBARA-McNAIR-YOU-RE-GONNA-LOVE-MY-AS-SMASHED-R-MAIL-/251004490622?pt=UK_Records&hash=item3a7108937e
  19. we're already there...
  20. Pepsi had 'Soulful' form... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6G1VOOnu1s

Prefer the flipside "Reputation" Hot Dog was a big Pittsburgh Oldies sound, which means you end up paying a decent amount for what should be a cheap 45. Even though it books lower in Manships, Val Shively has a slack handfull that he won't let out of the store for less than around $50 a pop
  22. Trying to create a database of 45s either demo'd or issued with picture sleeves on the following labels for an article: Okeh US and any Worldwide variations (ie French Epic) Brunswick and any other Chicago labels. Decent scans would be greatly appreciated. Ta muchly.
  23. You might get a sale if you paint Hammerite over those Murals.
  24. £20 - £25ish. Not a rare one but a few good tracks...
  25. The backings great, but his vocal style doesn't 'fit'.
