Whilst sorting some stuff at home I came across some old Magazine adverts for various artists etc. On the reverse of an Ad from Cash Box dated 3rd November 1965 I saw this article. I've also scanned all I know about this Anyone heard any others.
  7. Had the good fortune to come across this on E-Bay a while ago - from a record producer's estate.
  8. I liked it first time of hearing - took ages chasing down a copy, then I bet its not been played since the week I bought it. So many records - so little time (or is it so little money ?) Derek
  9. My Fave supremes is Misery makes its home Also love this And of course theres the rare version In 1966, Detroit radio station WKNR ran a talent competition called "Record A Record With The Supremes". The winner was a local blind local high school girl, Christine Schumacher, who went to the Golden World studio to add her vocals to Florence and Mary's, which had been cut earlier in the year (March 22nd). The track had originally been intended for Chris Clark, and the Supremes version was scheduled for release as Motown 1101 B, before it was replaced by "Remove This Doubt, the B-side of You Keep Me Hanging On. Motown had the song pressed and the radio station distributed them free as part of a promotion.
  10. Watched it on catch up this am, looking for inaccuracies as was everyone. Since its on BBC everything must be true !!! Now frantically seeking a UK copy of Don Ray Wonder who got the box of records he went home without - Always doing that.

  12. There was the night in the Tracky club - Punter comes up to look at what was playing, peers over DJ box - Pint in hand - Drops full pint onto Decks, L.Allen on one turntable, Chapter 5 on other. rescued both records before system died in a firework display. Never been keen on Northern nights in town centre - Friday evening in Citrus rooms Barnsley. Worst nightmare - Drunken Hen Party bursts in, have a drink & dance - One very leggy young lady in a very short dress clambers onto stage - Her request caught me out a little - "Can I have your underwear we're having a competition" Quick as you like - "I'll swap you - yours for mine" She caught me again - "Too late - they're gone - and demonstrated" She returned to mates and carried on dancing - I may have missed start of next record.

  25. Way back - djing at Portcullis - too many records in Box - snapped an issue of Van Dykes in 2, Bought a second copy - Did exactly the same 2 months later. Last year I tried again and bought another issue - getting out of taxi on way home - seat sprang forward letting people out of back - Crack ( at least it didn't break in 2) Think I'm doomed not to have this - Never broken another record, just 3 copies of this.
