HI I woud say some, many UK RARE RECORDS THAT HAVE BEEN PLAYED OVER THE YEARS, HAVE REALY BAD FLIP SIDES, NORMALY THE OFFICIAL A SIDE, SO IT WOULD NOT BOVVER ME, HOWEVER MANY PEOPLE TODAY HAVE A DIFFERANT VEIW TO ME, AS THEY LOOK ON THEIR RECORDS A A FUTURE INVESTMENT, AND EXPECT TO GET THEIR CASH BACK, GOOD LUCK TO THEMS TYPES DAVE K OH ! YEH I REMEMBER NOW, I SHOULD BE AT AN ALLNIGHTER NEAR WOLVES? SEE YOU THERE!
  4. Hi All A couple of things 1)all the DEMOS with blank labels like the ATLANTIC AT 4065 seem that they were never meant for UK RELEASE (maybe DECCA had a EXPORT release in w, this is the case on the LONDON Label) 2) all the Ben E Kings left the pressing plant without any info written on them at all, those DEMOS THAT ARE HANDWRITTEN & the INFO were written on by Keen Collectors,3) my guess that another reason for it being pulled of the 45, someone thought it would be the ideal side for a LP, and indeed that's what happened, As for Pete's ISSUE of FORK IN THE ROAD a silver does not make a DEMO in my book maybe a advance copy, but I doubt it, in the same way the red ATLANTICS had a black A on them, the A was just on to ensure that the record was posted out, BRUCE WICKS who had a record shop plus a disco back in 1966 told me that most of them reached home weeks after the release also what is strange to me, is that POLYDOR never put a black A on the sister label STAX, WHY? similar to the EMBER case both ATLANTIC & STAX sent out blank demos also they sent stamped A copied to BIG L & CAROLINE NORTH & SOUTH & BBC RADIO STATIONS, taking MY PIONT OF VEIW IN THE CASE OF PETES 45, IT MUST BE MORE OF A ISSUE THAN A DEMO, TAKE A LOOK AT THEM, THE BLUE ONE IS THE DEMO, IF NOT THIS IS THE ONLY EXAMPLE I AM AWARE OF THAT 2 DEMO EXIST BUT NO ISSUE, I'm SURE Mick had a stock copy of this by the way DAVE K
  5. Hi All Pete you no I live in the Past!? More important the EMBER label circa 1970, with a silver A, were pressed through B&C/ISLAND on PHILIPS Stampers, at first I thought the silver A was a EMI Hayes Press, as I don't have the record, you are the best judge? there is defiantly no yellow DEMO DAVE K
  6. HI PETE Your record looks the dogs, but the 2 blue copies with hand written labels? I will give £400 today Ranking J.M is at LIFLINE TONIGHT! come along DAVE K
  7. Hi all As I have not followed this thread as I have had no PC for a week, I have always had the info that the BLANK BLUE LABEL DEMO was the one to get
  8. Hi Russ Here's a TIP from D the DRUG:- NEVER NERVER APOLAGIES WHEN THERE IS NO NEED TO! or as John (the DUKE) Wayne said "never apologise it's a sign of weakness" DAVE K
  9. HI ALL... As PETE SMITH state both are excellent DETROIT 45's however even better is "It;s Love" on CORRECTONE 1053, Which is one of the very best NORTHERN SOUL RECORDS of all time, and as such a bit more rarer £100 mint, DAVE K
  10. HI GREAT RECORD, INFACT HARDLEY EVER SEEN IN A OPEN SALE, RARE STUFF, MINES A NICE RARE DEMO. DAVE K

HI A good question 100% UK stamper poss JA label? but def UK, A bit like BOB & EARL HARLEM SHUFFLE pink ISLAND, I had a white label of this release, look at the matrix and it was stamped with the same stamper that did the SUE release, so did I have a SUE Blank? looked great, but I suppose as Pete Smith says anyone can make a blank label, and pink Island copies aren't rare? DAVE k

HI THANKS FOR YOUR COMMENTS, "SHE'S A HARTBREAKER" may have no meaning to many of you who collect modern disco, but having the DEMO (THANX TO JD)is fine for me, and SWAMP DOG, ALSO on CBS, DAVE K

HI ALL.....Wish I could, but Mick Smith had it of me 10 years ago, maybe for his collection. more likely he sold it on? however I got the record from NIGEL in NOTTS who imports from JA, where there is yellow the color was red, and where it was red it was black, the record had UK stamped matrix the label was black & red BOW TIE STYLE, Makes me wonder what else was issued like this? DAVE K
  14. HI ALL TOTALY AGREE WITH ALL THE ABOVE However when I see a record with high postage, I always Email the seller informing them "if I win the auction I will only pay the official postage rate on the Item" this works 9x out of 10 for me, I don't mind 50p on top, try it yourself, it's OK to be ASSERTIVE! DAVE K
  15. HI ALL Good info from Pete as usual, info like this makes collecting come alive, Value of this RARE UK item is hard, as many UK COLLECTORS have had the same record for many years in 2013 £100+ should be right! but with rubbish records selling for £100, I would expect that £200 is the minimum to pay, It's almost impossible to collect rare UK Records today,as most rare records start around £100 in mint condition, for the 35 45s that I need to complete my UK Collection you are talking £12K makes you think! JENNY WREN is from DUDLEY* DAVE K *INFO FROM PETE SMITH BEATIN RYTHM
  16. HI ALL As much as I love JAMES BROWNS RECORDINGS (I have about 350 45s) to see him live was an experiance never to be forgotton, especialy that 71 concert in LONDON Lynn Collins the JBs & Maceo, from the origanal band, also a young man called BOOTSY Collins putting the P-FUNK sound on the 1s, I'm sure where ever you saw him live in 71 it would of been great PS I have only 1 UK record missing! DAVE K

VERY RARE, ALSO RARE are DEMOS ????& ODD RECORDS LIKE MY EARLY FIRST ISSUE SUE WITH TRI CENTRE ABAIN VERY RARE TODAY, ALL NORTHERN SOUL ARE HARD & SOME OF THE R&B CLUB SOUNDS, A GREAT LABEL TO COLLECT BUT AVOID THE JUNK? DAVE K BOTH RARE BUT IN DIFFERANT WAYS?.
  18. HI ALL, In my humble opinion, James Brown live, at anytime was worth it, however it was the 1071 gig at the RAINBOW (FINSBURY PARK ASTORIA) IT was the complete JB SHOW with JB's I can say this was even better than the DELLS at TRENTHAM GARDENS? 71 WAS BAD! SUPER BAD, DAVE K

HI ALL Q:- Does the record exist?..all I can say is this, over 15 years ago I had a different version of kept on dancing on a tape & it did sound like GP I thought it was on one of MICK SMITHS TAPES,, However Mick does not think it was his, so was it on a Dave Everson show tape? the sad thing is my kids taped over a dozen tapes? it is meant to be on a EP, as that seems not to be so, i need to look at LP s, several people also claim to have seen it on a euro EP?....FOR THE RECORD, I AM NOT HAVING A LAUGH LIKE I DID WITH THE NIGHT INST, DAVE L
