  1. Can you make a sound clip and scan? Lots of 'extremes' bands, but not heard of this track. Ed
  2. Al Johnson of this fame? Ed
  3. You are welcome. Had she not sadly died in 2004, I'm sure she would have been invited to sing her songs in the UK and Europe, as many of her contempories did. Seeing is believing. When her track is played at a large soul event, you could have a 1000 fans dancing and singing word for word to that song. An original copy is highly sought after and very valuable. Her career and achievements were obviously world famous, and you can be proud of her. Ed
  4. Hi LetterQween In our world....Northern Soul music...its a long story....this is what RDC is famous for: Brought endless pleasure to hundreds of thousands of people. Ed
  5. This could go massive. Bet is sounds great in a 100 club type venue...when they open up! Ed
  6. Summer 1973 Conanby Disc youthy. As a 12 year old wannabe 15 year old, we used to hang around with the bigger boys and look through the windows at these weird folks dancing. Jimmy Radcliffe and Jerry Williams would belt out every week. Not until 1975 did I get to give it a go at Donny Baileys nappy night. Big sound was reaching for the best. Thanks IL for introducing me to man made norvun! Happy days. Ed
  7. Look...its a Saturday afternoon, and the Millers game covided off... Freeman Hardy and Willis was the best version.:) But let's have a bit of karaoke fun, so all join in. Ed
  8. Heres a great background video.. Ed
  9. Pound for pound...this old mecca play has to be better value... Ed
  10. They? must have got there early:) and not looked her in the eye! Ed
  11. Cheers. Glad I held on to it and sold the pressing... Ed
  12. Always thought this was the original, but now I'm not sure. Had the one with a dipped centre but thought that was the pressing? Anybody clarify.. Ed
  13. Bit of trivia... Sat with Gwen at the 2004 LA soul trip....she was selling her records. Nothing special in that box whatsoever.....beatles, brit pop, very disappointing. Lovely lady though..... Ed
  14. You will need to go back to the old ways, car boot sales, charity shops, ebay virgins.. The bargains are there, and the thrill of the chase does not stop. Keep your spirits up. Ed
  15. Another thread just went over this... But just to add...theres more norvun fans around the world than ever, if you looked at the 2019 events guide, so the up and coming collectors / djs... just create more demand. That youth who bought Frank Wilson recently is probably after a copy of the other couple of hundred or so rare as hens teeth vinyl... Got to be another 20 years mileage in this. Ed
  16. Was the guy all bad? Surely he brought some good stuff to the northern soul table? Not alone in feeding from the frenzy of unstoppable desire for new sounds on the scene. Ed
  17. Butlitz is several halls at the same time. In one room its hard to imagine more than a couple of thousand. Ed
  18. Theres hundreds if not thousands of great 72 to 78 releases out there. Ed
  19. Whats international about it? Acts from around the globe coming or just disc jockeys? Ed
  20. Surely you will just be wrapping up a virtual all nighter at 6am tomorrow morning? The age of the wolf...Susan Coleman might be playing! Ed
  21. Indeed. A bit like norvun...you get it or you don't. There's a video that goes with the catch, what the hell, here it is. The trepidation of the catch and the learning of the skill in landing fish that weigh more than the breaking strain of the line... Ed VID-20210221-WA0008.mp4
  22. Maybe paypal will lower its fees to remain competitive? This may happen after that fabled box of 200 original Frank Wilsons turn up. Ed
  23. So the mystery gets worse. I swear I got a soul pack copy which was 'recycled' once I heard it was awful. I doubt I tried the b side if it had the same title... So....on the copies with the instrumental of TTLFL...was it on both sides or just on one? Just hoping I did not throw away a grand...:) I'm sure there was a similar thing like this on Dearborn. Should have been an instrumental to Silky Hargreaves, but it wasn't. Maybe some were and some weren't. Ed
