Dave Box RIP
I have just got in from visiting Val & she has asked me to thank everyone for their kind words & to pass on the funeral details. Thursday 13th December at 3pm Pontefract Crematorium, Wakefield Road, Pontefract, WF8 4HA. Family flowers only please. There will be a collection at the Crematorium for Motor Neuron Disease. This will be followed by a celebration of Dave’s life at Farmer Copleys, Ravensknowle Farm, Pontefract Road, WF7 5AF. Farmer Copleys is half a mile from the Crematorium. Turn right out of the Crematorium & head down the road which is the A645. Val did try to get the Wilton but with it being Christmas it was fully booked. All are very welcome.

Dean Johnson R.I.P.
Oh my goodness how very sad!! You were a knowledgeable, witty fella with such a dry sense of humour and I will miss you. I bought one of my favourite tracks off you. Spellbound by Rae & Christian feat Veba. An enchanting song that moves me everytime & will move me even more now as I will always think about you when I play it. Rest in Peace Dean Sending love & comfort to your dear family at this heartbreaking time. Ali xxx

So sad news-Mark Ellis-Rotherham
This is heartbreaking news. What a lovely & sincere guy he was. Last saw him a Pikeys Dog’s funeral and we had a nice catch up in the circumstances. So very sad, why are all the good ones being taken?!! Sending love & comfort to his family & close friends at this awful time. Rest In Peace Mark You will be missed Ali xxx

Queens Hall, Bradford. Late 80's video footage anyone?
I have a few photos (upstairs & downstairs rooms) but no video footage. I think the footage that Barry came across would have been from the downstairs room. I love your last paragraph & it gets my vote *thumbs up emoji if I could remember how to do them on here* Regards Ali

Good Angel aka Charlie (Kev) Jarvis
Still heartbroken over this news. Kev I'm really going to miss you, your wit & your loveliness. I remember the early days on here when you used to use "Shouts" to yell at me to watch Gogglebox which I did, & loved (back then) & then we had fun comparing notes. Well Good Angel, it's on tonight, C4 at 9.00!!!! You better be watching it from up there!!! I know it's not as good as it used to be & now, life is even more rubbish, because, you, my fellow Gogglebox watcher isn't around anymore ... & I'm just going to have to talk to myself, well, I'll be talking to you up there while watching it now & thinking what you'd be thinking. You take care up there Kev. Rest in Peace mate Ali xxx

John Lewis ( Louis ) Sad news
What a lovely send off for a wonderful man. A day of sadness with plenty of tears, but oh my goodness lots of laughs too, reminiscing about our irreplaceable Louis. Louis did have the last laugh when the chap taking the service described how much Louis loved his music, went on to say there was always one record that he loved to play in his car, no matter what. We were all waiting for a poignant soul record to come on when on comes "Marching On Together" the Leeds United anthem. I, of course loved it, and was singing along quietly and giggling my head off. Class move Louis!!! His family's generosity was incredible with the first drinks (& there were quite a few drinks!!) being on them or as the directions to Westhoughton Cricket Club leaflet showed a photo of Louis with a bubble saying "Always be prepared!! In case your satnav doesn't work here's a map to the cricket club .... First drinks on me!!!" It was such a kind and thoughtful touch. I am trying to find his daughter, Jo, on Facebook as I've promised to send her some photos of her Dad, but I can't find her so if anyone can point me in the right direction please will you PM me. It was lovely to meet Heather, Paul & Jo, just a shame that it was in these awful circumstances and my heart truly does go out to them and all his family. Sending lots of love Ali xxx

Sean O'Connor
Extremely sad news. Sean put on a brave face until the bitter end, & this is the lasting image I will have of him, when against all odds, he attended his beloved North Lancs Soul Festival, hard as it was for him, he was determined not to let his illness get one over on him, & it didn't that day. It was a tough emotional day, with some smiles, a few giggles, & he even stopped the traffic when his wife, Sharon, came to pick him up and we gave him a fanfare of applause when he moved off ... and we applauded the cars behind him for waiting and not losing their rag. Sean you were a kind loving man who will be missed by everyone who knew you. Morecambe will not be the same, but your memory will live on. Rest in Peace dear Sean. Deepest condolences to his family & close friends at this painful time With love & Sympathy Alison xxx

Joe Dutton Aka Pikeys Dog Rip
This heartbreaking news still hasn't sunk in yet As so many have said, he was a top guy, Sheffield's finest, & will be missed by all who knew him. Rather than try put into words how great he was, thought I would post a couple of pictures instead. One showing Joe at his best with his gorgeous smile (sorry Becky, I know you dislike your photo being taken, but it's a really great one and too nice not to share), & the other one is Joe larking about which we loved him for Sending love & condolences to Becky, Amy, all the family & to Joe's closest friends at this painful time. Joe - Rest in Peace my friend & see you later Ali xxx

News: The Marvin Smith Story and Interview by Dave Box
That is a superb read Dave! & what a great interview (I could almost feel being in Chi-town with you ha ha, I wish!) Can't wait to see him perform on the 15th!! Like others have mentioned, the Darrow gig was excellent, Debbie Taylor was sensational (& one of the best live artists I've ever seen!) so Marvin's gig is bubbling up to be another great success for The Wilton Soulful Sessions. See you all in November, I'm soooo excited!!! Ali xx

Northern Soul The Film - See It At The Cinema
As I'm away when the film is first screened in Leeds, I was left with 2 options Everyman Cinema (a new flash Leeds cinema complex) on 22nd or Hyde Park Picture House (a 1914 Grade II listed building) on 23rd. I opted for the latter & when I went to buy my tickets this morning the guys let me look round, so I could choose & try out my preferred seats, I couldn't reserve them though & have to queue early like the good old days. Eeh, I can't wait to see the film in the Picture House & no doubt get a numb bum in the process. If any Leeds folk read this hurry up & get your tickets .... But don't you dare get there earlier than me & nick my seat !!!
