  1. I just noticed that JM has Supremes - Johnny & Joe - German CBS on auction, currently at 13 GBP. What a piss take! It's so common, copies on Discogs start @ €8,00 for a copy w/ PS.
  2. Carver or acetate? I understand they do acetates only.
  3. OVO

Is there any chance to ban "OVO" topics on Soul Source? I mean, it's all been said and typed and written and meant before. Just not by everyone. It seems. Discussion is always going round in circles. We agree to disagree. And so forth. Four pages of "yawn" material.
  4. New podcast online, stream or download. Hope you'll enjoy it! https://soundsfromtheshelter.podomatic.com/
  5. Alltime favourite of mine. Such a great tune. Haunting guitar riff and silk vocals. I love it. One of many non-traditional sounding records played in the 90s that became massive. It was definitely played at Cleethorpes w/ender around 95-ish. I didn't attend but my wife did, she heard it played there. I used to hammer it here in Munich in the late 90s, first off the ABC mono 45. Later on I played the LP stereo version which I think sounds much better. Paul Weller's take is not a patch on the original. Good production, from a rather general point of view. But when compared to the original, no chance.
  6. Not doubting it's legit, but if they managed to find out who got the rights, Sonic Wax can sure provide some background info about the release, like who was/is Sandy Golden. How did they got hold of the backing track, etc.....
  7. Competition time! Guess the original tune this little pop tune here was 'inspired by':
  8. Family of Eve - please be truthful - Full Sail original 425 GBP incl fully insured shipping in Europe (signed for shipping outside Europe) Solid EX condition. Conservatively graded. Blue vinyl. Beautiful copy! Paypal only. Please PM me for more details.
  9. You're sure you're not mixing up the light blue issues of "If I had known" and "Chills and Fever"? I only know of multi-coloured issues of IIHK.
  10. Tony, are actually saying that IL played it? 😮
  11. 😮 500? I wouldn't even pay a fiver for it. A record Ian Levine would play as a northern soul holy grail on his podcast, it's that bad. but seeing how many are after it on Discogs I'm in a minority. So real problem seems to be my taste in soul music😂

  14. Might be true. The other Adam's Apples release on Brunswick, "You are the one I love" came out in Canada.
  15. not as weird as you think IMO. For exact the reasons you state. One is 40+ old, from the "good old days", hard to find and therefore much more collectable, one is readily available in quantities, less collectable, even though it's legit and in much better sound quality. Back on topic: I'm pretty astonished about the money one could make these days with selling pressings. They seized 150K in a Paypal account.!
  16. I surely agree to that. I used to store my records only in card sleeves and noticed all those tiny little hardly visible scratches over time. Then I used paper inner sleeves plus card board sleeves. Protects the records 100% but also takes up lots of space. I use them 150 count card board boxes* for storages. With paper and card board sleeves I only fit max. 100 in one box, that's 1/3 less. If you have only limited storage capacity that's quite an issue. My storage capacity is rather limited so I now use paper inner sleeves plus heavy duty outer poly sleeves to prevent the labels rubbing on each other. That way I fit about 130-140 records in a 150 count box. * 150 if you use paper sleeves only.

  18. Seems like my price wasn't nice enough. Now 150 quid for a quick sale!
  19. I'd say finding 1960's 45s in true NM/M- condition nowadays is almost impossible. Yet that grade is used by many. I stopped buying stuff on Soul Source as I got stung too often with poor grading. Sad but true.
  20. P.S. I throw in a full coulor copy of the original fact sheet that was sent out to radio stations, promoters, journalists etc...

  22. And which ones are worth an auction? Maybe Just Bros and Deloris Ealy. All others are set sale items IMO.
  23. An empty CC sleeve? That's sad.....😫
