I certainly disagreee. Some real heavy tunes on auction (in all three sections) but quite a large number of records that are surely non-auction items (IMO). E.g. latest additions: Phil Terrell, James Bounty, Big Frank, Jordan Bros, Detroit Gold LP. None of them should be auctioned. They're set-sale items.

Sorry, but that's just a lame excuse. If you want to play LP and stick to OVO you have to play them from the original not from a carver. There are small LP boxes available. Sturdy ones for about 10 LPs. Not too heavy to carry around. Edit: when I was dj'ing I used this one here. IMO much more important than having a passion for collecting is having a passion for the music. I practically stopped buying records. But not in a million years I'd stop listening to soul music.

That MGM label looks a bit odd, sort of empty compared to the US ones. Are the canadian ones all like this?

Less than 400 in real world I'm afraid. It made about 450 on Manship. So real value way below that. I'd say 300/350 depending on condition. I know it used to be 700+ only a few years ago. But it seems demand has dropped since then.

The belgian press looks like a bootleg to me. I mean, just look at the logo. and the overall appearance of the label. Smells fishy. BTW, I keep seeing an allegedly german press of Jamo Thomas on lists. Can somebody confirm that there's really one?

CDs and later on MP3 sort of "killed" collecting compilation LPs (IMO). I know some guys who tried to get all Soul Supply and Kent LPs. Eventually they did. But that was 20 years ago. Nowadays it's either OVO or pressings or MP3 files.

I agree, getting the complete Kent vinyl set is very hard. Some LPs are very easy to find, others very tough. But the question is: Are there any collectors out there trying to complete the whole set? I don't think so. And if there are, probably just a few Or speaking of collectors in general. Are there any collectors of 80s/90s Soul/Northern Soul compilation LPs. Again, I don't think so. My point is: IMO compilation LPs are completely out of fashion these days. I'm going to repeat myself here. Folks either want OVO or at least a 7" reissue/boot for haptic feeling.

As good as they are, IMO all those Kent and Charly compilations aren't worth more than 10/15 quid these days. Due to demand. Because there isn't much. Folks either want the real deal, or 7" reissues/boots.
