		thick and thin vinyl 45s

Some of those majors as ABC, had runs of some specific numbers pressed in either this or that pressing plant only and then some never on styrene or the other way around accordingly...

		Ebay's Global Shipping Program?

I always ask in advance those sellers if they would "skip" that Globalized Shi**ing Prog. and if not, I drop the "deal". But as said here, many don't know that they have the opportunity to not go through that GSP and/or even how to "calibrate" it right. When it request you to pay $25 for 1 single shipped to Europe through the calculation of the GSP, something is definitely not right... one seller replied to me; I am not sure how the global international shipping program works. You would have to talk to someone how handles this. Sorry then; I am not sure how the international global shipping program works. Sorry Goes to show... I dropped it since the singles I was looking at were not that important to me. This is the modern world ! It takes a lot of consuming time and perspicacity to understand how it's working since the lasts changes, modifications and options. And then what it is implying at the other end of the line...

Dean Barnes if you ever walk out of my life

Both sides are in my "ever & forever" top-ten ! I know, I do have my trad. and cons. Norzern Zoul (Jawol, ach !) "guilty" sides too... with only one single to her name (please don't mention that 'these heartaches') and very little story known around it, Dena Barnes is still a major artist in my heart. So many odd sides of the peculiar, picky and demanding passionate leaves us most of the time misunderstood. An almost "autistic" feeling.

Bobby Garrett. I can't get away

Nope. Styrene is light, stiff and always has a 90° outer edge where vinyl is heavier, souple and has most of the time a round or sharper outer edge. Some pressing plants in the 8T's made some vinyl 45's with a straight 90° outer edge though...

		Why not Euro imports?

Same here ! Some european releases are much more desirable than any others, but for those 2 (Lebanon is not yet in Europe though ), I just disregard them while I veneer their US counterparts. But as said before, when it comes to collecting, one dog should know what bone he wants and the rest is just his own imagination and desire.

		Why not Euro imports?

There's some of that 'hype' factor, there's also the USA only collecting type of collectors. I understand them much more than they understand me I'm sure. LOL ! But really and I mean really, I always collected some of those euro releases but not all of them. I'm based in Brussels and they use to float around some. I collect a lot (once again not all picture sleeves) with a soft spot for those beautiful soul French EP's, Holland's Artone soul singles, Belgian Brunswick's soul singles and other bits like early French Atco with folding sleeves... The French Googa Mooga's are all much less rarer than their USA counterparts. Only Eddie Parker 'crying clown' on Triple 'B' who was found years ago in bulk as NOS maybe less rarer now than the Googa Mooga. I've heard stories of NOS bulk of Googa Mooga's on the flea market here in Brussels years ago... Anyway I'm happy with my Googa Mooga's cause they sound great, the sleeves are good looking and they are affordable. But that Ashford USA label is great looking I must admit. Where the Sonia label for Al Garner is dull to death IMHO.

Frank Elson has a pop at Top Djs and Collectors

That I didn't know. That just makes all his musical taste UND knowledge claiming on what is "the best ol' soul music" and all his insulting gibberish squeak to real records, DJ's who don't vote Labour (or worse !!!) and "collectors" who pay (or crate dig) to get their records (bring back Robin Hood) even more worthless IMHO ! Maybe he thought to himself that he was in the nice'N'beautiful country where everyone's nice and cute but where the bad'N'nasties are that and can be despised eh ! Where it's actually the other way around but we are not outrageous on those matters. Ever since I can remember that it's only those preventive words passed on to say to avoid (mp3's, no OVO's, TOP 500's or cheapskate sounds from whatever edit thingy) on some venues like a good advise, right ? Don't eat or drink that you're gonna fall ill ! You do that will people you care for. But not in a scandalous way or behavior me think.

This is the one but mine also has those stamps... looks more like a record representative "trade mark" to me. A DJ could be that also actually.

Sly, Slick & Wicked on Bad Boys 1st & 2nd issue

Thanks to Dazz we can have an overview of the label variations through the numbers : _________ITALIC_______________STRAIGHT_________ Now has anyone got the non-italic BAD BOYS records (straight NOT italic) of 'love' gonna pack up' as in second pic here and check if it's the wide scratched matrix with the broad run out groove or not ?

Sly, Slick & Wicked on Bad Boys 1st & 2nd issue

The plot thickens is common phrase... but here I just got in "another" copy of 'love's gonna pack up' and it's a darker yellow matt variation. Not only that and most important the "scratched"matrix is written with large character in a wider run out groove. First "old" lighter matt copy I owned and second "new" darker matt one I just got in. While both other italic BAD BOYS records matt and shiny label variations (as the 2 firsts shown on beginning of thread here above) share both the very same matrix and stampers, this new one was made with another stamper. On ear, this new darker one suffers less of high distortion and so the basses are tighter and deeper. I made a soundclip/mix of both tunes so you can ear the differences. Just a look at the recording "visual frequencies meter' top one being the old lighter one and the second the new one. sly.mp3 Check the mp3 I did here. Recorded one after the other without any touch on volume ! Start with the "old" one with pale label and thin matrix then the "new" one with darker label and large matrix. Then Switch and so on... 0:00 to 0:45 old lighter 0:45 to 1:30 new darker 1:30 to 2:15 old lighter 2:15 to 2:40 new darker 2:40 to 2:50 old lighter 2:50 to 3:10 new darker So if Sonny Day pressed all those ones, he must have had an issue with the older stamper, masters and/or tapes. My guess is that those copies with the smaller matrix where made with a re-recording of the actual record. That could explain the lower volume and the distortions. Unless someone knows better...

		Flowers - For Real - 2 versions?

Mmh... let me put that in doubt Mal. Didn't kept them 'John Doe' lists since for reference (actual I mean) prices that are now out of date and I'm not "anal" in the Freudian sense either (LOL), but I remember on those early 9T's (colored paper sleeves lists) with 'Flowers' being on his list but rather for £100 region (I think), 'Ruby' on Golden Token £250, 'Bobby Reed' on Bell £40...

		I Have Never Liked

To come back on the real matter of have never liked ... Since I started collecting I somehow always knew from scratch when I heard a record for the first time if I loved it or if it was a record I "liked" or to be "re-listened" to. Only after some years, my ears grew "stronger" and I could tell right away if I loved an newly heard tune or not. The "re-listened" to are always there but fewer and for less longer to fall in a category. I never loved a record for it to be a "tune of the moment" and I never acquire/kept a record neither as a "proper" collector should do or DJ. Heart and ears first, mind and wallet second.

		which was your fave unreleased?

Not the best or the most "northern" but every time I hear it plunge me back to that day I attended the 100 Club and that gentlemen Ady spinned his RCA tape discoveries. While dancing my ears were eating every single note of that very singular soul "floater" by Sharon Scott '(putting my heart under) lock and key'...

Off course not ! that isn't the case. Just a miss print where the gold ink is missing (two paper stuck together with the bottom one not getting it's gold layer), SOUL16 even states in it's first post that the flip side 'your love keeps drawing me closer' has it's golden layer !
