  4. Aren’t there a few more versions out there also, Irma & the Facinations unissued acetate, then via Kent On lp I think... Pete Hamilton generation - hey girl and Ian Lavine’s Venicia Wilson... which is the very best reworking I’ve ever heard, I’d be right proud of that If id done it,... not that I could in a million years mind you:-( M
  5. clear winner thus far! Virgil is without doubt one of the most miserable fuckers I've heard in years.. reason, the vocal, lyrics, backing are all on a par... even Bobby Bland never stooped this low... you can have the MP3, you wont listen to it much 😞 wollow in it people!! Virgil Griffin and Rythm Kings - A Forgotten Lover.mp3
  6. There is a thing Im always after in Photos, what I call dynamic perspective, I think makes the diference from a nice shot, into a fooking great shot, most times its about shapes, and how elements in your pictures live within the frame, that dog 'Chester' and the lake are doing it!! cool pic, might loook nice in B&W, and cropped a tad Steve... Ive been doing lots of canal walks this week and they are covered in a green carpet..
  7. here you go Pete, Aussie boot of Bob Kuban and the IN-MEN - The Cheater...
  8. Wonder what the preceding 13 facs were?
  9. most certainly is... I like the 7ts and 8ts boots, I’ve even got Australian boots of soul tracks we love on here that got released there... Whether anybody got paid or not, you can’t deny their historical importance...
  10. Brilliant, the duckling procession! here’s my duck picture, “8 chick wall, mother duck shoots from out of the area...! “
  11. Great day on Widemouth bay beach last week..
  12. 7ts boot ! ahhhh I've always thought that one was a real ringer, i.e totally different color label and all that, not identical. Is it worth sixty quid?
  13. Wow, I didn't know that this one had been done.. i.e booted.. Jimmie Raye on KKC, it actually looks quite good in the scans... whether the sound is any good is another matter I guess... https://www.ebay.com/itm/Jimmie-Raye-Philly-Dog-Around-The-World-Just-Cant-Take-It-No-More-7-Vinyl/292654054071?_trkparms=aid%3D444000%26algo%3DSOI.DEFAULT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D51915%26meid%3Db23295c23dab444f9cca8db6995dbf2e%26pid%3D100752%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D3%26sd%3D292652143924%26itm%3D292654054071&_trksid=p2047675.c100752.m1982
  14. I believe the boots are blue labels, yellows are original. m
  15. I did have an acetate of Joe King from somebody on here, he had a blank Royal Esquires and various other very interesting acetates and discs, all from Clem Price the label owner >>Here<< gone now, and of course I wish I hadn't sold it 😞
  16. On Fredrick Hymes, there was a second very look alikey 45 that has been discussed, maybe it was a second run from the source? Dunno, was deffo not the first one, I was referring however to a disc that looked like it had been booted direct from that second 45, it really looked bad and I guess was a very short run, maybe it was a one off... who knows, great track though...
  17. Saw somebody had re done Don Carlos on a lookalike label. Looks right at a glance but clearly not the original up close, No red import stamp either. I bought one of those Frankie knuckles... mal
  18. Don’t want to hog the thread, but I just gotta pop this one in, ‘Sage - I’m alive ‘ always hits that happy spot... just happy to be alive I guess ! Lol
  19. I guess this thread leaves the Motown catalogue in big contention, heres one that really makes me feel great 🙂 I’ll say this though, you can’t have total happiness without just a hint of sadness, surely:-)
  20. Don’t think you can beat Prince philip Mitchell - I’m so happy, simply cause it is!! Carla Thomas - never stop loving you - nuff said and who doesn’t go weak at the knees to Tammi Terrell - come on and see me !
  21. That’s not Aussie In Crowd mate it’s a NZ release.
  22. Isn’t there a boot of the boot of Fredrick Hymes on Fab Vegas, think ebay was littered with them at one point...
  23. Pray tell Russ. A cover up naming session with Shifty bet that was fun 🙂 love his madness !
  24. Yes they are both reissues or possibly boots, the original of Johnny styles is on a pink st. Laurence label, there is a look alike boot from the 7ts, and way to tell them apart is simply the original has a Chicago address at the bottom boot does not, plus the paper used for the boot is a tad more shiny but you would not notice that unless you got both side by side, boot 15 quid, original now fetches 150, used to be a tenner ! 😞 mal
  25. Unfortunately the you tube clip was blocked for the uk, why I’ve no idea, but I don’t know of a more depressed soul man than Virgil Griffin - Forgotten lover he got the blues, reached for the bottle and swollowed the pills ! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3jlTym0ygDo
