New Manship Guide has arrived
Personally I think this book is a total con, £75 quid plus the post... you all know whats coming, add a third plus change to what you see else where and you have it... why does every body buy a book that dictates prices from one source? I buy of John every now and again, but for stuff he doesn't charge silly money for, I certainly would not pay his silly prices ever... Prefer to spend 75 quid on a really great 45... each to their own, but once you have it on your table at home, think to yourself, are the prices in this book actually reflective of the market as a whole... the answer would be no... so other than being a nice thing you can flick through, the books seem to me, pretty useless right? I'm sure others will disagree, but that my view... Malcolm

Arnold blair finally made it home
totally agree, got mine from the Disco Edits web site, which sold out pretty immediately a month or so ago, supposedly Leroy had a stash of the track with him he was going to sell at his gigs and so somehow more became available from the disco edits site but i guess they have now gone.. seems every new release of note these days is getting bought in quantity and sold at 200/300% the right value, I normally get em on pre order, but I missed that Big Lee Dowell 45 in July, and had to pay silly money for it, that said, both sides are great, love the inst version.. m

who will replace us?
if you do now would be the time to sell them, its gone silly again... as for the 'Scene' Ive no idea I dont go to the clubs mate, just a fan of the music... I'm sure there will still be clubs in 15-20 years time to cater for the amount of people who want to go out... m

who will replace us?
Not with Johnny Sayles mate, haven't you heard it's 500 quid now? Somebody mentioned too many younguns going down the oldies route, isn't that how everybody got hooked? Then As you get older you end up listening to crap semi house modern records which are about as soulful as a toothbrush.... Seriously it's all a musical journey! m

Was going to say the same, simply top and flip sides on one 12 inch side,., still remember seeing this for £2 of John Doe Records in the early 9ts... if only you could turn back the hands of time eh!

who will replace us?
The sale in the sky has already begun, lots of older devotees selling up, which you would think would bring prices down, Hasn't ! see it as passing of the baton, its more romantic that way...
