There's a lively track by them worth checking,"she did a number on me",not Russell on lead though.. interesting nonetheless.
  2. Tune indeed, quite a few looking for it now I would think.
  3. Made for sharing, and if it turns people on to it..job done!
  4. You live and learn.. fabulous track, thanks a lot.
  5. 119 views but still elusive! How does something as good as this slip under the radar?
  6. https://youtu.be/3l3xPoGRYoQHope this works, this track been stuck in my head for a while, can't identify it though.Thought it was Joe Simon but websites all drawing blanks so maybe not.. over to you.
  7. Wondered who it was who played Sonny Craver, had a few heads turning did that, rightly so.
  8. Enchanters...best record Levi Stubbs never made?..I reckon.
  9. Hope you gave those classics the obligatory introductions,Spellbinders/Dells etc, great mixture.
  10. Seems to be getting a lot of attention recently does Virginia Blakely, always found it to be one of the most respected 45's,a la Lorraine Rudolph. Hard to find someone who doesn't like them...well played that man!
  11. Liz Vice..wow! How good is that. Hit me like a ton of bricks did that! Well in!
  12. "Hi babe,it's me and I'm on my way... what! man if I don't ever see you again it'll be too soon, you stayed away too long,I'm packed.
  13. "You've been looking at me,like I'm something you wanna try"..Jimmy Beaumont.

    "Crossunder"..now there's a genre.
  16. Amazing how things change isn't it? Not long ago it seemed that specialist radio shows were no longer viable due to low response to advertising, putting the podcast at the forefront of specialist programming.A welcome return this is, albeit in the"graveyard"slot.

Check out"girl on my mind"by him,a killer intro.. then"oh dear"the biggest bag of daz I've ever heard. Cheesy cabaret doesn't even come close. It's on you tube, move away all sharp objects first!
  18. Pleasure, all the 45's have thier time eventually I reckon, lack of regular weekly/monthly venues making it so hard to break them though. At lifeline recently in the middle of half a dozen or so funky tracks,Sam Dees"soul sister"pops up,sounded so right for now and pricked a few ears up.So much still to go at,definitely see us old buggers out!
  19. Bobby Foster.. super track that, seeing lots of interest in the old"m"pressions lately too, great quirky track,so much better than the same old same old.Looks like a great night that.
  20. Ex Marmalade keyboard player Jnr Campbell"sweet illusion"or"hallelujah freedom"at that particular time would've slotted right in.
  21. Greater Manchester was the place to be in the 70's,no doubt about it, ask any of the dj's from that time ie Searling,Rushton etc.7 nights a week, every week. All our mates used to be amazed at how spoilt we were over here, local radio coverage, the lot!..Gtr Manchester?..there's nowhere greater!

That's actually Ron Dante, the voice behind"Tracy"by the Cuff Links, also"sugar sugar"by the Archies..got around quite a bit didn't he? Nice feel to that 45.
  23. It's real, several releases by them, the line up put together for a U.S advertising company.

Lots of interest in the 5 wagers at the mo,one for the future is that.
  25. Used to call in for a pint, before and during shifts at the Sunday Mail/People just round the corner. Amazing how many places a few copies would get you in!
