LP Cover Art - Framed ?
I did a colour photocopy of this Art Tatum sleeve a while back and put it in a nice chrome frame which looks the business in my home office. Couldn't believe what a good quality copy you could do on the cheap - colours are a lot brighter than the version I have copied below and it really does look great.

Greg Perry "Heart" when & where
Had mates who were into the scooter scene in the 80's and as you say records like Greg P and Alfie Davison were big plays at the time for them. Funny when the majority of stuff they seemed to like was northern oldies such as Fortune teller, Our love will grow, Better use your head, etc. Presumably just a case of a couple of the bigger modern tunes crossing over from the soul scene? Hard to imagine the scooter guys digging modern soul like this though

Billy Keene
Presumably no difference between the two, just Vault first issue?

Jimmie Reed Jr
Cheers Dave - great nights, had some fantastic times there
-
Jimmie Reed Jr
Getting off thread here but Pat definitely did at least one allnighter at Bretby c. 1998, possibly the Chris King one with the free Marvin Gaye 45, Ivy Jo Hunter, etc. I never went to any soul nights there, only allnighters - maybe after your time Dave
-
Jimmie Reed Jr
Hi Dave, I remember very clearly talking to Pat at the DJ booth at Bretby when he was playing Yum Yums 'Big thing', a big revival sound for him c. 1998 so I reckon you are wrong on that PS. thanks for the info
-
Jimmie Reed Jr
Hi Steve, I used to go to Bretby c. 1997/8 and Butch, Pat Brady, etc were on, but maybe you meant earlier I remember it being popular at say Manchester Ritz but can't remember who was playing it - unusual as mostly (in recent times anyway) you can tie a particular record to a particular DJ

Jimmie Reed Jr
Re. Jimmie Reed Jr 'I ain't going nowhere' (Mercury) - I know it was a Pat Brady spin at Stafford but can't recall which of the bigger name DJ's was behind it mid 90's when it seemed to be huge everywhere - seem to think Butch but anyone confirm?

"only Your Love Can Save Me" Bettye Lavette - Multiple Recordings?
Interested in UK Pama releases - just bought Betty Lavette from Ray M and was wondering how and why these occasional soul sides got picked up by a predominantly reggae label - were they already Wheel spins on import? Can imagine Betty L 'Feel good all over' at the Wheel - anyone confirm? A couple of Bobby Patterson sides on Pama also, plus seem to think some Jean Wells (appears to have been a Calla connection). I recall both Betty L sides being popular c. 1990 with Mark Bicknell I think spinning 'Feel good all over' at Droylseden, etc, and Richard S 'Only your love' a lot at the time too - any memories of either side previous to that? Cheers, Chris.

Really looking forward to seeing Sharon as well Ady - any plans to get 'Where there is love' out on vinyl to tie in?
-
Bobby Garrett"my Little Girl"
I got a mint original issue on ebay a couple of years ago for £50, which I thought at the time was fairly pricey but now looks like a bargain - fantastic record as well
-
John Manship Auction Results 8-4-2015
I love it too - paid £200 late 90's for a mint copy from Pat Brady, so would have thought with continuing popularity and rarity it would have increased in value somewhat. Like all auctions though, depends who is looking at the time I suppose

John Manship Auction Results 8-4-2015
£184 for Embers 'First Time' looks a bargain to me - don't see it for sale very often and would have expected a good £250?
