Records that sound alike
Always wondered about these as the writing credits are completely different

Alexander patton
Spoke to a friend last night who owns a copy, and I was mistaken. It's an AIM stamp not a daisy stamp issue that has the title on 2 lines. It is extremely rare. It's not Canadian.

Do the Canadian ones have a daisy stamp?

Actually there are originals with the title on two lines, they have a daisy stamp and are quite rare, the next bootleg guide should be amended to show this. There was a thread a few years ago which went into fine detail, but I can't find it.

Ebay Seller. Shady Practices.
I think he possibly believes you have hijacked someones ebay account. I would be very suspicious of someone wanting stuff sent to a different address.

Soul Source : The begining??
Clarks did a shoe called 'oberon' in their Clarks originals range which they discontinued last year, They were a copy of the original polyvelts. I bought 3 pairs although I just use them for walking when I'm on a city break holiday. They're too grippy to dance in. The Casino's floor was an exception.

Big Frank & the Essences Philips Versus Blue Rock
One thing I can guarantee is that the quality of the Blue Rock styrene will be rubbish. I don't know where they got it from but it must have been made from re-cycled tarmac.

News: The Post Wigan Years - Northern Soul
The 80's also saw the rise in popularity of the All-Dayer. A few I remember going to: Bankhall Miners, Blackpool Pier, Ritz, Highwayman's Halt at Snaith, run by Sam and Arthur Fenn. Todmorden (at the top of a very steep hill), and a bloody freezing New Years day one in Preston which was brilliant. Some of these might have been early 90's but my memory is mush.

Eddie Holman Hurt/ Where I'm Not Wanted
Unreleased, play it anyway you like. If originals existed then things would be different.

What's a good book on Soul music, not necessarily NS?

I want the company sleeve
Speedjive, thanks for the link. I understand now. Like Amazon but for records.

I want the company sleeve
I'm struggling to understand this.... I've never used discogs, but is everyone saying that the photographs of the records are not of the actual records for sale and are lifted from somewhere else? Is there a reason that you can't use photos of the actual records? If that's the case then I'm glad I don't buy from it.

Looks good but plays crap
I've had mint, never been out of the sleeve records that have been unplayable. Just bad pressings. The worst one that I can think of was a mint styrene issue of the Temptations - I want a love I can see. The groove was so lightly stamped that the stylus wouldn't sit in it.
