Dancing In Trainers
Still can't get into some clubs with jeans and trainers on, but frankly these are places I would rather not be 😉
-
Bad soul doo's
I’ve only ever been late once due to traffic and I asked the guy before me what he had played so as to not double up on anything- that’s the best but some couldn’t care less as they’ve really just got a planned set to play or play all their biggest willy wavers

Bad soul doo's
I do like a mass debate 😳

Record Boxes
I use these for some LPs, they were a bugger to move but great for storage - didn't realise about the 7" ones may have to have a look at them

I Hate Northern Soul
The term Northern Soul nowadays just conjures up images of middle aged men in baggy trousers and vests, wearing patches to places they've never been to. I tell people I collect soul music to keep away from the stigma, but I also find it funny that those who fanatically profess and are even evangelical about Northern Soul know little to nothing about soul music and really are only interested in about 100 records. I get the feeling that because I don't go to oldies do's they think I don't get it, whereas I'm tirelessly searching and sourcing records, listening to new music that's new to my ears as much as possible - it's a funny old world...

How To Be A D.J.?
Unfortunately know a few like this - along with DJs that don't promote events that they are playing at

S.W.O.N.S
Thanks guys, may just be my age 😉 with this one

S.W.O.N.S
It really is a strange world - so Manny has a set of bootlegs up for auction at the moment (just added today) already sitting at over £200 with 3 weeks to go. I get people collecting etc but do people really collect boots and pay that much for them...personally don't get it but each to their own I guess...would rather spend the cash on something else...

Soul Source guide to record collecting.
Don't do it 🤣 Seriously though - research, research, research (price guides, internet prices, websites listed above, soul source)...and don't listen to what anyone says about a tune, if you love it buy it (don't buy anything you don't love)...always keep a small pot available as wants always come up when you've spent up...set yourself a reasonable monthly limit (will vary for everyone)...and most of all, enjoy it - if you're not enjoying it you shouldn't be doing it... ps it doesn't matter a bollocks if you DJ or not, and if you're only in it to DJ then I don't think collecting is for you

Another Poll version battle.
"Northern Soul" all-nighter classic, we all know that there are quite a few non soul tunes played on the northern scene (as well as other parts of the scene) just due to the dancing beat - luckily there's plenty out there for all of us, it's just not for me - have a good one
-
Another Poll version battle.
don't find either of them in the least bit soulful but can see why Susan Barrett was big as it's definitely more of a dancer - both crap and cringe whenever I hear either get played out (which luckily isn't that often)
